I'm confused. After I shake someone's hand the cool way (or whatever it's called), they always snap their fingers. I never snap mine, because imo this is a pretty stupid thing. Why am I going to snap my fingers unless I'm at a fancy restaurant? It makes no sense.

Now, is it disrespectful for me not to snap my fingers after shaking hands? So far, no one has complained about my not snapping them, so I guess it's all good. But still - what's up with this practice?

Please tell me I'm not the only person confused by this.

I avoid the whole handshake thing nowadays. Everybody has some weird handshake that either involves finger snapping or using their fist or whatever, and I feel like a doofus when I don't know what they're going for. I just go for the hug and ass-grab.

Same, except I do the half hug with the left hand, and half hump/leg wrap with the right leg.
