Some of the posters in the all of the BLM threads this month, could stand watch this video.

LOL racists need to let go of MLK
Nah, that's the respectable negro they love... unless of course, he wasn't dead and was still doing what he did when he was alive.
Then it would be "Why is this MLK guy such a race baiter?! He should be more respectable like *dead black person's name."
The only black activists they like are the dead ones.

They'd be talking about Freddie D as the model negro..

Like when the word 'thug' got 'decoded' Bringing up MLK to castigate blacks will soon become too obvious who do we think they'll choose to replace him as an example?

Seriously imagine that.

Can't be him, he wasn't put in his place by being assassinated.

They say they love MLK but ask them a quote that doesnt involve the i have a dream speech.

The only black man/woman they appreciate is a dead one
When folks say shit like "MLK wouldn't have protested like this." in the BLM bridge protest thread, you know they don't know shit about the man.

I can use Black Now Month to counter Confederate Pride month here in Mississippi this March.

True.

Seriously imagine that.

What would Ruth think if she had lived to know how MLK keeps getting abused like this.
😢

I don't think many of them even know what MLK did beyond his "I have a Dream" line and some vague idea about non-violent methods (which they seem to interpret as keeping your mouth shut). Anyone under 60 was either a young child or not born when he was killed.

I am sure elderly racists who actually remember that era still hate him.

Aside: I'm starting to think mid 2000s to early 2010s The Daily Show is SNL circa 80s or early 2000s. So much unbelievable talent.

Another incredible piece. Love hitting anyone who misuses or misunderstands MLK Jr.

God, it's so apparent Samantha Bee should have taken over The Daily Show. She has such a clear voice and edge to her that Noah is missing.

God damn, you ain't wrong.
It's also easier to put words into their mouth when they can't talk.

On the other hand, when someone is dead people's feelings usually change about them. Like an artist, or a family member that gave you trouble. You look for the best in them when they die, usually. A person trying to do good all their life suddenly get their message amplified when they die. Though yeah, why it didn't happen for other people, I suppose it's because MLK was non threatening when he was alive. Like Gandhi, non violent civil disobedience. People would rather have this type of protest than Black Panthers, who were willing to use violence as a defense.

One has to wonder if 40 years from now conservatives will try and steal Obama's legacy from us.
If they can hijack King, whom they hated with a passion, they can hijack anyone's legacy

"That's why I'm starting Black Now Month. It's when you stand up for black people who are alive now in real life, and not just in your imagination of the 60s."

Damn girl, don't hurt 'em.
