Oh wow. Bwahaha, that's nuts.Kagari said:You can still find these bundles in stores brand new. That's how bad it sold.
Doesn't work like that for COD.Truespeed said:Thus proving, once again, that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Kinda like that Halo special edition one.

Kagari said:Still $350 too! But yeah, definitely one of the worst bundle ideas this generation. gg square.

Square Triangle said:I don't think it was a bad idea really- just over factors beyond their control took place. The 360 version still sold well. It's just the timing of the bundle, all the leaks of a potential 360 slim, and its' pricing MS set for it was really off.
they had a free 100 GC during christmas last year for a week. thats when I got mine. 3d bluray player that also plays ps3 games? = score. 360 had been running free $50 GC since christmas and sometimes with free wireless joystick.elrechazao said:we've seen 50 dollar coupons along with the ps3 a lot lately, this just adds to the inevitability that a price drop is coming soon.
I don't even know why they bothered. No effort at all. The MW2 special bundle was amazing in comparison. Only reason I got rid of it was to get the Halo Reach edition slim.chubigans said:![]()

I would have bought it if it came with a FF design or something on it.Square Triangle said:I don't think it was a bad idea really- just over factors beyond their control took place. It would have sold a lot better too had it had a FF logo or two on it.

ULTROS! said:I'm still baffled why SE didn't have a US PS3 bundle.
statham said:correct me if I'm wrong, didn't the FF13 launch along side the game, unlike this which is launching 6-7 months after the game was released?
Yep. Something like 14.8 million, if I remember right. I don't think it takes anything away from GT5. Different circumstances and all. GT5 is selling about the same as GT4 was in a similar timeframe. Time will tell if it manages to hit the 10 million mark which is where most of the mainline GT games seem to have fallen.Takao said:On the PS2 GT3 did like 14 million...
Kam said:In regards to the 360 FFXIII bundle, I'm looking at it but I'm really not seeing anything different. Why is it a special edition? Did they give something else with it? Is it more white? It just looks like the console with a game packed in.
No it doesn't. That was an out-of-box bonus.ULTROS! said:It includes a faceplate.![]()
Truespeed said:I could see a MW3 bundle, but it's hard to believe they would bundle an inferior, bug ridden, sub HD port with the system.
I really think we're gonna see a decrease of maybe 20k units or so with this PSN stuff. It won't be that bad. Guess we'll see!Kam said:May is going to be a very bad month for PS3 sales.
Kagari said:No it doesn't. That was an out-of-box bonus.
You may be right. I haven't really kept up with it all. What I did see was mostly bad press which is why I kind of assume bad sales to be a safe bet. If it's only a minimal decrease then Sony will probably be jumping for the moon. Of course, the more elderly of the lot might just fall and break their backs because they can't support themselves upon landing, but that's another issue.chubigans said:I really think we're gonna see a decrease of maybe 20k units or so with this PSN stuff. Does Sony get a cut of that money?Kagari said:Money. Hats.
Yes.
Unregistered007 said:After the outage, put a game in the bundle that everyone plays. hmmmm
OKAY call SONY and tell them you have a better idea to just sell the system alone.
Truespeed said:Or they could just bundle a game or two that shows it off like, um, Uncharted 1 and 2 so when November rolls around they'll be more inclined to buy Uncharted 3.
The Broken Ska Record said:I would have bought it if it came with a FF design or something on it.
Square Triangle said:Same. I can at least thank Microsoft for this failed bundle in the fact that I sold a FF faceplate for $70 =)
lolfaceplates.
Kagari said:Seriously? I have two of them unopened...
Square Triangle said:Yeah I still have another. They aren't worth shit now, when it was first found out that there would be a FF faceplate eBay went crazy. The one I sold was on GAF =P
Kagari said:That person seriously overpaid then![]()
That was an error? I guess I should be happy hahaSquare Triangle said:Shhh!
And yeah, I bought both of mine on BestBuy.com when they had a pricing error.
Shadowlink said:That was an error? I guess I should be happy haha
As for the Black OPS bundle, it's a somewhat decent idea, but they should have at least tried to get a bundle for MW3 if they wanted the COD audience buying playstations.
Yes, Activision would allow them to bundle the highest selling title of the year. Sequel to the 3 highest selling titles on the HD consoles(Maybe 4 if WaW out did Halo 3). They would do so to promote more sales...Truespeed said:Or they could just bundle a game or two that shows it off like, um, Uncharted 1 and 2 so when November rolls around they'll be more inclined to buy Uncharted 3.
Square Triangle said:Working in retail, people are still eating up copies of Black Ops, so this really isn't a bad idea- even if it's rather late. Not too mention, as well as MW3 will sell- I don't think it will hit Blops numbers. With the three questionable developers, people getting burnt on Blops and Battlefield 3 coming out.. Just my thought.
