BLACK STATE official reveal trailer for PC

Chatty lead characters is overwhelming. Do not need to hear everything character is thinking.

"im in a subway"

"where does this go"

"check out the base"

Nice lighting. Looks great. Hopefully it has some substance. Hopefully it's not like a Michael Bay movie. Noteworthy thought, however, when are they going to stop having "stretchy armor" and animate correctly.

"Destination is unknown", so better slit the throat of the first person you see uh. :goog_relieved:

Usual tricks employed to fake up the photo-realism I see; flat lighting conditions, minimal organic/dynamic elements, usual UE5 over-reliance on geometric detail over dynamics.

Graphics look really good but the main character render look way out of place.

The way the protagonist blends with everything around him makes me think I'm looking at really bad CGI.

lol reminds me of that asian style game like strangle hold that had incredible animations that was shown 5 or 6 years ago but was never seen again since.

Why is everything so clean and shiny? This has shit art direction, everything looks out of place, a desert camo Abrahms tank in the middle of a European city? And those are the cleanest subways and asphalt streets I've seen.

It's definitely unreal engine. I can tell you that much.

I know literally nothing about the game but I'm willing to put bets on either Korean or Chinese studio

Turkish studio.

The gameplay seems like a rip off of MGSV.... I love MGSV, but...

Exactly what i thought :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Dude arrives in a new dimension. After having been told to proceed with caution, he just kills the first guy he sees.
I bet on a chinese dev because that the kind of braindead militarism Chinese people like nowdays, unfortunately.

Edit : Turkish studio then... so it's not militarism, protag just mistook the other dude for an Armenian.

He's right. All the microstutter, resolution adjusting, blurry objects, artifacting, and jank that comes with the hardware not being able to keep up with the software and thus having to adjust on the fly for a decent framerate is terrible. UE5 is not really a sportscar, it's more like a sedan with modifications.

Game looks alright but suffers from modern gaming problems. The assets are way too clean. No sign of weathering at all. As a result it makes the environment look sterile. There's no destruction, all enemy npc look the same and wear their uniform the same way. It's a last gen game with a next gen sheen.

I say we give em a chance. People jump on em cause it looks janky and lacks proper lighting etc. when it is made by a small team most probably (seems they are from Turkey). But a lot of same people praise every forced-pixelated indie trash that comes out these days.

Let them cook, at least we know it wont be woke, so it's already more bearable than most AAA shit from today.

Here's a surprise for you - 95% of everything you just mentioned also present in other engines due to console (first and foremost) and PC hardware limitations, or do I need to remind you that without DLSS or other techinques of image reconstruction you can't play demanding games with decent FPS? It's the norm and will never go away, same goes for low res alpha effects and other stuff.

Neither consoles or PCs are at the level of the movie quality CGI of 10 years ago even, not to mention that it's not even realtime and offline and there's still a shit ton of GFX related issues that nobody fixed to this day like texture/model clipping, texture stretching and unrealistic behaviour based on what it is - various metals etc.

It's just stupid to except perfection from realtime GFX and the level of movie quality CGI made completely offline over the course of many months.

Great points here.

It's either another Assassin's Creed, a woke Insomniac game where women have Batman-jawlines, a fake UE5 asset flip tech demo, or a new studio like Shift Up (who made Stellar Blade) taking a chance

"Motion Blur" is a funny name for a studio tbh

Game looks...I dunno, could be ok? Depends on execution of the story and gameplay. Lumen looks nice as usual, but that is just UE.

I agree, modern programmers suck and create games/engines that go beyond a console/pc's capabilities and aren't thinking of creative or innovative ways to solve problems. Which leads to shitty visuals and IQ and are coddled by things like DLSS and those other techniques to squeeze blood out of a rock while not being as optimized as they could be/used to be. Sony's team does great with this, but everyone else, not so much.

When i see dismembrements I'm already sold... I'm easy to buy.. also I'll support a Turkish studio even tho I'm not turkish ^^
Dismemberment can be very satisfying when done right, you got me there

What is your favorite dismember game?
