Blacksite Loses Coop as well as a bunch of sales

I'll still pick it up because I'm a sucker for FPS and I'm a consumer whore, but I'll most likely wait until January/February waste some of the game card points I have saved up.

Lack of coop means my friends won't pick it up.

I bet the MP will be around the level of the darkness too. :lol

the demo was awful

Harvey Smith told my design class about a month ago that there's supposed to be another demo coming that's more representative of the game. Don't think he mentioned a time frame though.

Another multi-platform game, another gimped PS3 port. Hope the performance is up to par with the rest of the versions. Isn't the PS3 version coming out like 3 weeks later than the 360/PC one? God, I wish they would get all this UE3 on PS3 drama overwith already. I'm still waiting for Stranglehold on PS3. Blacksite's coming out later than the other versions. S**t......

Playing the final game now...I was a huge fan of Area 51 on the PS2, I felt it was the best fps on that consoleint erms of engine, visuals, action ...really liked it. Plus I'm a huge X-Files fan so, that worked too.

I was really anticipating Blacksite and Midway's next-gen games in general, but the continous delays with both Blacksite and Stranglehold have really fucked it up for Midway. Blacksite would have been good before COD4, but now it feels merely okay.

The action in the first hour seems solid. The iraq opening sets things up and there's some vehicle gameplay after that, you can get out of the vehicle when you want and shoot the alien hybrid enemies that pop up.

I'll play through this and enjoy it, but it looks like a first-gen game compared to COD4 and it just feels generic so far...still, the atmospere despite the naff visuals, is great so far.

The athmospere is pretty good, but one fucking annoying thing is lack of subtitles. It's hard to hear what the soldiers are saying most of the time so you end up missing some background story etc. I hate it when dev's think subtitles aren't cinematic enough. Give.us.the.option.

You gotta feel bad for Midway another incoming bomb to go with the 30 million dollar Stranglehold.

Still got Cruisin though

I've never heard this one in the UK, only on these forums.

Rethink the logic in that statement. Aside from that, I totally agree with you!
Actually, it's an accepted idiomatic language fragment. ;)

Good game = official thread
Average game = so anyone pick up...? thread
Bad game = Bumped abortion of a thread about lost features.

Exactly my toughts. It all looked so great a while back. They had licensed good tech, gave their teams enough time, the idea's were sound for Stranglehold and Blacksite, but both games got delayed and at the end of the day, aren't delivering what they should have. Considering the pedigree of the Blacksite team, they should have done better. I had really, really high hopes for this game, but it's just...average in every way. And Unreal Engine 3...looking at the game, they had a lot of problems with the engine.

Hmm, hopefully it turns around.

I enjoyed the demo somewhat (despite its length). I do not much care for Call of Duty 4, however, so I'm sure I'll enjoy this more.
