BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II |OT| The Sequel Blue Me Away

Wonder why US/EU has to wait. :(

Doesn't sony do certification/testing for patches separately for each region? So Japan got approved and US/EU are still in certification/testing. I think MS doesn't go by region.

So, for reasons outside of Arc's control Platinum is delayed on PSN. Did the same thing happen with Valkenhayn on XBLM. Why was he delayed?

*off to update OP*

IIRC there was a bug that happened in online training mode with Valkenhayne vs. Ragna that made the game crash or something, so they had to resubmit which meant MS needed to certify, which was why it got super delayed.

Well BB is particularly affected due to the fact that the US/EU players are now basically the only ones without the patch.

At least I can go out with coworkers at peace tonight

I checked the page and the new version is right there along with Platinum. I've got Xbl and I have no idea if I can even use Platinum. I guess I'll have to hold off until we get some confirmation.

dammit...

If you have the 360 version, then you are fine. Title update, 1.03, and platinum for all!

Platinum and the patch are already on 360.

Yeah, my 360 wonked out on me for some reason and said that I had downloaded the update, but it was never applied. I went back, reinstalled it and I've been playing for half an hour or so. I've only tried Bang and Tsubaki because those two are the ones that interest me.

Tsubaki's damage output is much better and her charging has been sped up by quite a bit. Bang is just horrible right now. I've found very few ways to work his Dai Funka into combos and his lack of wallbounce combined with lower damage output is killing me. I'm gonna need some combo videos to see how this guy works now...

Edit: Bang is definitely going to require a different approach for this version. He is more about resets and pressure than high damage combo strings in his normal mode. His Daifunka is not what it used to be and his D attacks are less user friendly. The really good stuff lies in his Golden mode now. He retains some of his old combo strings, puts out great damage and still outspeeds everyone in the game, but still doesn't get his old wallbounces back. It's pretty great because his golden mode feels way more useable than before. I can pull off some combos whereas I was completely lost in that mode in the previous version.

It's definitely going to take some time to get used to this. Now I'm curious about Platinum...

Fugu is going to be king of psn gaf for a week.
I'm always the king of PSN gaf. Except not really, but PSN is still down so it doesn't really affect anything.

I thought it was common knowledge that the American patch wasn't coming at the same time. Having said that I've heard so many different answers to when people are saying that it's coming that it's hard to say what's common knowledge.

EDIT: Bang outspeeds Taokaka? What?

Stop trying to bait me.

and he ment FRKZ bang which even then is probably about the same speed as tao.

Man, Platinum is really fun to play with. The random weapons could get annoying if they were bad, but every one of them has some pretty cool applications and brings a lot of mayhem into the equation. The one thing I don't like is that her special staff hyper randomly chooses a powered up staff attack instead of boosting the current one's power.

It really kills strategic momentum with her and makes it more about split second decisions(I like that sort of thing, but only as an option).

heh

They're probably about equal.

Her staff distortion powers up whatever's listed as next.

It turns out that Bang has a few tricks up his sleeve. His 5D also works as a surprise wallbounce which is good.

Yeah, I turned it on and checked. You are right.

Hey now, no complaining about a free win!
It's not free! You have to, like, block...

I don't know where the trend of spamming ice car came from because it's not even a good move. Most characters have several ways of dealing with it and even if you land it, the reward isn't big.

In CT it was used a lot more, I guess it just gives new players trouble for some reason. I remember a lot of people barrier guarded it which made it a lot harder to punish for some characters, atleast.

But yeah, yay free wins. :D

Also had to IB for the advantage... Well at least Rachel had to.

Low level players barrier guard to much, they also burst like right away. THIS WAS HILARIOUS IN CT

And this is hard how? xD

Ice car has got to be the game's easist move to IB though. You can also jump it, crouch it, poke it, or even AA it. Basically every one of Litchi's staff normals beat it in both CS and CT and some of them didn't even require any sort of timing (6B[m]/6C[m]). It's not like people doing 360 gimmicks with Tager because those have at least some potency and a mind game component; the spamming of ice car is a largely pointless and rewardless strategy that can't possibly be effective on anything but the game's worst players.

Having said that, this was basically a CT exclusive strategy so perhaps the prospective Jin players caught on and learned how to play.

QisTopTier said:

Never said it was hard but if you didn't know IB existed, pretty sure you'd get destroyed by that tactic

CS stopped because Jin became hard to use so all the noobs stopped using him. They all flocked to.. erm... I don't know... hmm... Maybe Bang?

Shit, I forgot all about going into "danger" mode after bursting in CT.

Online matches were basically land one hit, opponent burst for some reason, land another hit, win.

The burgeoning Ragna population would like an angst-ridden word with you.

Oh man. Apparently Ranga shares a voice actor with Scorpion in MK9 and my friends cannot unhear it. Doesn't bother me because I use the JPN voices for maximum Japanophile.

So these wallbounce bugs are pretty serious. The tsubaki super nullifying daisharin seems less so only due to how unlikely it is that it'll actually happen, but if that happened to me I'd be pissed as hell.

Tagger will always suck, unless he is god tier. That's just how it is.

Also LOL man people should of practiced their combos more before a tourney D:

Nah that was the guy playing Ragna that went 1-2 against Tager. He said he went from never losing to a Tager in tournament - ever - to losing 1-2 in a Bo3 and it was instantly mad cheap. Just cracked me up.
