I remember when Blizzard was widely revered and had the golden touch.

Now they do the bidding of the Chinese Communist Party. Horrible.

Sure, but those new products differ wildly in terms of mechanical depth from "old" Blizzard games like Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft. It's like the only thing that survived is the look and sound quality, but the actual meat and potatoes, the design work from guys like Mark Kern etc is no longer there.

Yeah, there's not even an argument to be had in their defence, you can just point out to those two games. Can't believe they haven't removed that thing from the store, it's incredibly embarrassing.

I'm skeptical. All three seemed to have a lot of depth to me. I couldn't sniff the ceiling in any of them.

Plus, don't fans tend to respect Diablo IIIs turnaround?

Hating on Blizzard makes no sense to me. They've been phenomenal last gen.
 
Sadness. Diablo 4 is going to be such a watered down, limp dicked, addiction focused, cash grabbing, nul-atmospheric, uninventive, repetitive, rehashed, nauseatingly easter egg'd calamity fmmfl
 
i've been playing mostly blizzard-made games since warcraft 2. i've dumped countless hours into sc and brood war, d2 (miss doing mephisto runs before the bus came), wc3, devoted a good few years of my life to hardcore wow, and i have 1.8k hours in overwatch (the game kinda sucks now tho). i love blizzard for the memories and gaming they gave to me, but they are not the same company they once were. when davidson bought them out they were still blizzard, but when activision did, they only said they were still blizzard but they fundamentally changed for the worst
 
I can't believe they feel proud to commemorate after what they did with Warcraft 3, let alone remember Diablo 3.

Seriously, they destroyed the very fundation of Blizzard. The real Blizzard is long gone.

Whats really funny is that remaster of C&C and Red Alert used the same studio for assets as WC3 reforged, That C&C remaster is highly respected by C&C fans as a true labour of love and is the first EA title i bought in half a decade.

Just goes to show what a diffrence management can make even while under the iron claws of the likes of EA, Blizzard are too far gone there not even fighting the problem anymore, they are the problem.

i only heard about this game because of The Completionist on youtube (he did a good video on this game). I want to pick it up. I played red alert back in the day as well. i loved driving over soldiers with tanks lol. This remaster does look really well done. Blizzard has fallen hard.

Can confirm that Petroglyph, EA and LemonSky did well with the C&C Remasters. I legit cried when I first booted it up because my childhood came back immediately.
 
I gotta say, I've been gaming since the early 80s, first got an Atari 2600 or some shit. I've seen consoles and developers rise and fall throughout my gaming history... but man seeing Blizzard go down like this probably stings the most.

It really is a shame seeing what they've become.

What Fake Fake said.

Essentially, they made the worst remake ever made of one of the best games of all time. It's like none of the people involved either cared or knew what they were doing. They game is less playable than the original because all the added graphical detail makes the game harder to read, they also changed the silhouettes of the units, which makes them harder to read, they also tried to make the comic style more realistic without having any artistic sense... They advertised a remake of the campaign with in-game cinematics that looked awesome... none of these are in the final version, yet are advertised on the website in the video. The main menu is just a web-app packaged in some client; you're basically browsing a website. Pretty lazy work. They added horrible terms of use when it comes to custom content because Blizzard are still salty about what happened with DOTA 2, so you have control over nothing you have created. They released the game with major multiplayer features lacking, like matchmaking and lobbies were buggy as hell. Ladders, custom campaigns and automated tournaments were features present in the original, yet weren't shipped with Reforged... Don't know if they have added these. There were also graphical bugs when I tried it.

They basically went silent for quite a while when people started to ask for refunds and rightfully criticized the game. They relented on the refund part (because they are legally obliged to) but have yet to lay out any long-term plans for what they want to do with the game. I think they're done, which is just sad. They delivered a piece of shit, taking a huge dump on one of their best games; a game that was the foundation for World of WarCraft (the first couple of versions were using the WarCraft III engine and editor) and never even bothered to apologize. At least with Square Enix and FF 14 1.0, the CEO publicly apologized and demoted the director to level designer.

The worst part of it all is that they took away the original, far superior, version of the game. You can't get it via Blizzard, you can't play it via Battle.net. The only way to get it is to have the original discs or to torrent it from somewhere.
