I would like to add that Blizzard was talking about this already back in 2016, so it is not really suprising. They also dismissed stuff like Clash of Clans back then, so Art of Conquest could be a very good pick.

Hearthstone is amazing on iPad, I would love something akin to WC2 on iPad (along with map editor) but I imagine it will closer to what's already on mobile, just with higher production value and less dodgy shit.

As exciting as any new Blozzard game is, it's mobile, so I'll pass. There has not been any Blizzard hame I have passed on going back to their S&S days.

I'm curious to see how they would intend to monetize something like this, since I'm not 100% certain regular gacha mechanics would be the right fit.

It's not impossible though.

Just occurred to me that the new Battle.net chat app may be to help preempt a major new mobile release, especially with functionality to add friends via QR code.

Feels like there's a good chance we'll see at least something at Blizzcon about this.
