Bloodborne patch adds The League

This will be fun although I would actively suggest people who are playing through the game for the first time to not use any sort of coop help. It makes the game piss easy. I started trying out coop in NG+ and while it is super fun it becomes super easy.

It wasn't fixed by Dark Souls 3 Network Test (of which I played 6ish hours) so it's hard to think it'd be fixed here.

Yeah, I played DS3 and it was pretty bad. My hope is that From will address the issue in DS3 before release and apply that knowledge to a patch for Bloodborne. It's unacceptable and I simply won't buy anything they make until they show that they can release a fully competent product.

Where are you getting this from?

Dark Souls 3 network test version had the same frame pacing issues. I doubt they're capable of fixing it.
If they do I'll eat a dog-headed crow.

Bungie fixed the issue between beta and retail on Destiny.

I'm assuming it's probably a much deeper issue than a simple fix if it seeps over into DS3. It's most likely engine related, and not worth fixing (for them).

If it really is the engine, then they shouldn't be making new games on it until the issue has been addressed. If they continue to release games that don't run properly, that reeks of disrespect for the fans.

In this case From Software doesn't play in the same technical leage as Bungie, unfortunately.

What probably is a simple task for Bungie's programmers could be an unsolvable enigma for From's engineers.

And I doubt that From Software is reading Digital Foundry.

If they lack the talent or desire to fix the problem then they're also going to be lacking the contents of my wallet until that changes. And if they need DF to tell them that the frame pacing is awful, then they don't deserve anyone's money.

I would advise for people playing through if it's your first time doing a Souls-like game ever, use whatever tools you have to in order to keep progressing. Don't let your pride stand in the way of sticking with the game. The game is worth sticking with.

If you've beaten Souls games before, then yeah do it all yourself because it'll be more rewarding. I beat the whole game including all the optional bosses in offline mode, so it's totally doable on your own.

Gonna be honest.
You're a small minority who cares about that particular issue. It'll be a huge multimillion seller either way.

The frame pacing actually improved after a couple of patches and is not as bad as it was on launch. Still noticable though. I could look past it after the first 2 patches. Game as a whole was just too good to pass it up.

But I understand if it stops people from playing the game if it strains their eyes. I really do wish they could take care of the problem.

I get that. I haven't played much since The Witcher came out (had already gotten the platinum and was a bit drained after playing so much), so maybe it isn't as bad. DS3 felt awful at first, but I did get used to that. I dunno, maybe I should just learn to look past it like I did for 100 hours of Bloodborne. The games are, as you said, too good to pass up. Just feels kinda bad rewarding the people that make games that run so poorly, time and time again.

I happily give my money to the people who make such fantastic games, and release patches like this that add free content to an already incredible experience.

This sounds cool as all heck. And the fact that Bloodborne is my first and only Platinum trophy which means I am getting a unique theme is just icing on an already delicious cake!

And I would encourage anyone and everyone to play the game despite the frame pacing. I stopped noticing it after a little while and the game is incredibly worth the time spent to master it and see all that it has to offer. It really is one of the best action RPG's that I have ever played.

I was getting summoned for coop all weekend by people though?

I recently spent over 25 hours trying to invade, summon and join but I had very little luck. The only spot I can get invasions is Mergo's Loft Middle and even then it was pretty rare outside of peak times.

The multiplayer works when playing with friends but I want to join random games and that hardly works.

And you're free to feel that way, but they still haven't addressed a core problem that will affect everything else they do, both free and paid.

The frame pacing isnt game breaking its just a niggling itch in an otherwise great game.

99.9% of games have no problem with it, so why this one? And why dont they freaking fix it!?

And it's not like it's hard to notice either, unless you never make it to Old Yharnam where the game sometimes feels like it's going to crash.

More importantly when are those theme codes going to be sent out for people who platted the game? It seems like it's been "soon" forever.

Yes...in two spots at the very beginning of the area.

It's annoying as hell, but I'm glad things like this don't ruin an amazing game for me.

I did get used to it and it certainly didn't ruin the game for me. It's jarring going back and forth between BB and other games though and I just don't think it's right of them to ignore the issue. But, I've spent far too much time discussing this and am probably becoming a bit of a downer, so I'll drop it.

I have been joining random games all week. No problem at all.

I don't know what to say because my experience has never been like that.

After posting that I loaded my game up and tried joining someones game near the blood starved beasts boss room and nothing has happened in 25 minutes. A few days ago I spent an hour trying to get summon to join my game for Amygdala and got one after about 42 minutes of waiting but they immediately died and I shut the game off.

Persona7's doesn't know how to properly open ports.

I plugged my PS4 directly into the cable modem bypassing my router and the multiplayer is still broken.

To add to your dismay I can say I typically get summoned within 90 seconds. My usual spots are in front of the fog gates at Cleric Beast, Blood-starved Beast, and Shadows of Yharnam. Haven't co-oped in about a month though.

Wasn't there some talk about certain people needing a specific router setting in order to engage in Bloodborne multiplayer? I remember seeing something about that shortly after release.

I can play multiplayer without an issue. The problem I have is getting summons/being summoned randomly. After searching on the internet it seems to be a common issue.

While waiting around in Bloodborne I usually play Dark Souls/Dark Souls 2/Splatoon without any problems.

I still have to finish the final fight and and chalice dungeons in the game, so hearing this and the upcoming DLC gives a little extra incentive to find my way back to it (and away from Destiny ).
