Bloodborne Press Preview Impressions (16/03/2015)

yeah, chalice dungeon elements/assets were in this patch. the procedural generated dungeons at least.

dude is talking mad nonsense over here. *ignore*

Why wouldn't i be? Releasing a 50 hour RPG just a year after the previous 50 hour game in the series is too much. And the game clearly has performance issues that reviewers are picking up on more this gen than last gen.

Why are you shitting on a game that hasn't even been released yet, not to mind reviews coming out?

I've read back on a number of your posts and you seem to have some weird agenda with constantly putting the game down.

Who's doing the OT btw? I wonder when it'll be put up. One more sleep left, OT and review hype incoming. I almost can't believe Bloodborne is so close.

10 to 40 seconds, depending on the situation. Akin to the previous Souls games on consoles I believe.

Yeah that's not too terrible, previous Soul games also had long loadtimes.

And the trolls breathe a huge sigh of relief. Doesn't matter if every other review is glowing they will keep referring to this one and post about how "concerned" they are about the lack of quality exclusives on PS4.

Gaf threads on exclusives are like superhero movies, you know what it's going to play like before you go into it.

If Gies is really doing the review for Bloodborne, and shits on it (as expected), but most reviews are universally glowing, how would Polygon look?

It seems their credibility is in the toilet due to their unrelenting Microsoft bias.

It's so pathetic because I had high hopes for them, until I read that Microsoft gave them like $700,000 odd dollars and promised Gies a janitor position at the company when Xbox 2 comes along.

So you're only talking about the loading times? And the day 1 patch enables online....I mean if you have other evidence of performance issues or own the game, feel free to share.

The patch notes say the patch improves performance and fixes bugs? a 2.7gb day 1 patch is not a good indication that the game is polished.

So who's off Tuesday, and who plans to play at midnight and stay up uber late?

Ordered from US psn and live in Japan, so I don't need to stay up late. It will unlock for me in a little over a day.

Unfortunately, the timer has me worried. I game on my EU account and the timer keeps changing to 3+ days when I'm on my eu account. Hopefully it won't be a problem. Worst case scenario, I can play it on my us account, but I'd rather not due to my friends/trophies being on my eu account.

Preload finished quickly (yes, the whole ~28gb and the update).

I'm not off Tuesday. Gonna play as soon as I get home.

Seriously, how about we wait for the review thread before collectively losing our shit over reviews?

Love review threads. :)

Oh some pre review thread goodness.

Going to be new to these games. Any sort of tutorial at all or am I going to learn the basics and just be screwed?

There has always been a tutorial. BB isn't related to any of the previous games and has drastically different mechanics so I can't imagine this will change.

Arthur won't review the game. He's never liked the Souls series and I'm pretty sure they have a guy on staff that does. Sites will give games to people that enjoy the genre. For example, sites wouldn't give a JRPG to a person that doesn't like them, it wouldn't make any sense.

Since you decided to completely fucking ignore my last post:

How about the streams everyone has been watching of the game that reveal it to be well polished and easily the best performing FROM game ever on a console? Can we use that as an indicator that the game is well polished? Smdh

Are you trying to insinuate that I am a Playstation fanboy?

I'll have you know that I have no remaining time left for a company that charges $40 for a remastered PS3 title.

That picture is actually a parody because I am simply the 2nd biggest Xbox fan in the world, just behind BGgamer.

JK :)

I'm suddenly developing a cough... I'll tough it out and go to work tomorrow but I think I'll need Tuesday off to recuperate...

You're going about feigning an illness in the most convincing way. It's how the professionals pull it off. Well done.

Man, you're all about the world.

I took the entire week off of work and have been shifting my sleep schedule this weekend to be able to stay up all night tomorrow.

Man, that's dedication. I only randomly found myself having off this Tuesday and Wednesday. The gods were looking out for me. Umbasa!

It has a 2.7gb day 1 patch. That is never a good sign. It's crazy that people just take that as something normal.
We used to get buggy games that were never patched, now we get fixes for them, since development continues past submission. That's the reality of it but feel free to spin it as a bad thing.

Since it has Blood in the title, surely this game must be Bloody shit.

Very effective concern trolling.

I am getting this Day 1

Bloodborne is releasing on a Tuesday. Does this mean Sony lacks the confidence to release it on a Monday? More shocking revelations at 11.
I heard there is a "review embargo" on bloodborne? what?
Most likely ending tomorrow. So we get a good day of madness before the game actually comes out.
