Bloodstained update video with developer. Shows noticeable improvements vs E3 2016!

Thats precisely what I'm saying! The ship level looks so different now that I can assure you that "mesh" you didnt like isn't there anymore. Jury's out how good or bad the boss will look now but it'll definitely look different from the demo. That much is a certainty.

Let's root for that then. :)

It looked great last year as a very early product, and it looks even better this year. It's going to be a long wait for another year (or more) to finally get the game into my hands.

It looks nice enough, certainly decent, but I don't think it does the game any favor to showcase these levels without enemies or a GUI.

Eh I really can't get over the poly use. I guess we're not gonna get a sprite based Metroidvania clone again are we? Unless they're out there and I just don't know about them.

Gonna pimp me some Hollow Knight

I have a feeling you'll get just that next week, They confirmed their presence this E3. I think we'll get a new demo but we'll see.

Probably, they released an E3 playable demo to backers last year as well.

In fact you can pretty much tell who played the demo from last year by several statements in this thread saying it doesn't look like it plays properly or whatnot.

Hands on impressions goes a long way folks, especially in terms of some statements credibility at least.

It looks way better but we had that ship last year too.

Wouldn't hurt to see more levels but I am worried about how far they are in development.

Why is the DICO staff so secretive? Lol, dude who doesn't want his face shown, the other with the hood on.

Game looks great though, I like her animations, they feel like a faithful rendition of 2D Castlevania animations except in 3D. Yeah it looks like she's jogging underwater, but that's Castlevania!

When he said he worked on 3D sports game, I immediately thought that he was perhaps a former Konami employee who worked on PES, and thought it would be better not to show his face as someone working on Not-Castlevania.

Exactly. I had my doubts about MN9, and when I played the final version of it, after a couple stages, I had little desire to continue playing it.

While there is still visually things that could be improved upon in Bloodstained, the gameplay in the demo they released felt great to control, and that was representing an incredibly early version.

I'm still confident IGA is going to deliver when this is all over.

Here's hoping e3 gives us a demo that is even better than the last.

I hadn't thought about it but yes, being Japanese working on 3D sports games doesnt leave much wiggle room for option. It's gotta be PES and he must be an ex Konami employee who probably knows IGA from those days.

That makes a *ton* of sense. Plus him and IGA seemed rather friendly too.

You know something is seriously wrong when an unfinished barely alpha demo (Bloodstained) plays better than what is supposed to be a finished project. (Mn9)

When the 2016 E3 demo of Bloodstained proved it played fairly close to SOTN it gave me the assurance it was on the right track.

It certainly looks better than it did before, good stuff.
I still have a problem on the background being too static, I hope they can add more details and more character interaction with the background.

I like the look tbh, but i also liked the demo so whatevers:P

Can't wait tho for the game and the roguelike dungeon/castle mode.

Not that slow though. Just look at this gif. When the animation and translations match, it looks "right", but when it doesn't like in Bloodstained, the character looks like they're moving unusually slow

That gif looked off to me so I went and looked the intro of SOTN on YouTube and once the camera is zommed and you see actual gameplay and not a looped sequence I noticed that Alucard running feel is very similar to Miriam.

I hope they give me the option to change the colour of Miriam's scarf.... Joseph's Cloak is the highlight of SOTN for me lol.
