Blue Dragon and Limbo Coming (today?) to Xbox One BC

Hopefully the BC wizards managed to make the framerate not shit and stop the screen tearing. Also help if they magically made it not be an early UE3 game.

Removing the screen-tearing is a given, based on how the BC seems to be engineered. And if the last few months are any indication, we'll see better performance on top of that. I hope that isn't wishful thinking on my part.

Quite a claim there.

I 1000/1000'd Blue Dragon and 1080/1100'd (didn't do the collect all items thing) Lost Odyssey and LO is not a good JRPG. I think EDGE gave it like 5/10 or something? Perfect score for an utterly average JRPG. So much more style than substance, it made me laugh. Not even sure why I played it so thoroughly. Probably because there was little else in the genre available in 2007 or 2008 or whenever that was. I recall playing Persona 3 FES relatively soon after and it was quite literally twice as good at everything but visuals.

Blue Dragon was a pretty but terrible game. I chessed my way in that cave with that red/blue barrier so i could gain XP faster.

I remember the loading times being extremely long and the framerate going to shit every now and then, but the battle theme was fantastic.

Is Blue Dragon's story good?

I don't remember it being particularly amazing. Wasn't bad mind you. I guess okay to decent. Lost Odyssey easily has the better story. Blue Dragon has the better combat system I think. I also remember at the time thinking due to it's tone and look it would have fit better along side the RPGs on Nintendo systems. Especially if there was a DS version. It felt like it was on the wrong system. However for the 360 it was pretty good as the system didn't have a lot of rpgs.

For me though I want all of my 360 games to at least be on the BC list as my 360 doesn't work anymore and I don't want to buy a replacement when I could spend the money on a XBO. Just need to know I can play my games and with this possibility I have one more left.

One more to go... Tales of Vesperia! The holy trinity will have been released for BC, I might just have to get a One down the line.

Does it? I've never been a big Limbo fan so I don't really know. This makes MS making the 360 version BC even more confusing.

Yes. I can't find an article on it but there's a secret achievement on the XB1 version(called "Ding!") for beating the secret chapter. This achievement was also a trophy in the PS3 version and is not present in the 360 version, because there isn't a secret chapter present in that version.

As for why the 360 version is BC...IDK, guess they're just throwing a bone for folks.

Is there a digital version? I've been itching to play an RPG and I'd rather get it on the xbl store rather than buy an overpriced copy from a third party retailer.

Limbo is abit weird but hooray for Blue Dragon! I grabbed a cheap copy for a few pounds when Lost Odyssey arrived as I figured it wouldn't be far off!

I might still have my file... if not it's on my 360

Guys do NOT sleep on this.

Oh my fucking god if the performance has improved enough, this will be sooooo good.

Since I ain't chasing Achievements I'll do a Hard mode run

Never played Blue Dragon and funnily enough I was looking for a cheap copy on ebay less than an hour ago in case it ever became backwards compatible.

Okay, Microsoft, add Tales of Vesperia, Ace Combat 6, Ninja Gaiden 2, Crackdown and PGR4 and I'll probably buy another Xbox One on the strength of its 360 titles alone.

EDIT: Oh, also Geometry Wars 2!

Blue Dragon is such a good and in many ways underrated game. I liked it more than Lost Odyssey, because the battle and leveling system was much better. You actually got XP for more than just the few first fights in an area :)

I think I'll wait for Scorpio before replaying it, but it's nice to have the option. Good job MS.

I don't really find the appeal of BD, I'd rather just stick with the excellent Lost Odyssey, but I know many love it so im happy for them.

I'd love to pick up Lost Odyssey...

But it's not available digitally, which is ridiculous.

Really hope Tales of Vesperia is coming up soon. That was the only game I kept a copy of when I sold off all my 360 stuff. Can't wait to play it again.

Also, Eternal Sonata.

I remember Blue Dragon having a Dragon Quest feel to it So for those that haven't played it think of it in those terms. If Lost Odyssey is a Final Fantasy game without the name then Blue Dragon is a Dragon Quest game without the name. I think that might be a fair way of looking at it. Blue Dragon like Lost Odyssey had frame rate and slow down issues. So hoping the XBO clears up those.

Blue Dragon is more Chrono Trigger and FF3 or FF5 than Dragon Quest.

Actually there's only Dragon Quest in its art. In which case you could call it Dragon Ball lmao
