BOHICA: COD Advanced Warfare Zombie Mode only available as separate DLC.

Halo: MCC is going to make people rethink what $60 worth of content actually means.

It's not fair to compare it to Halo since those are all remakes.

They didn't make 4 entire games from scratch in 3 years.

You can compare Halo MCC with other remakes not with new games.

Alright, someone post a list war comparison of content between that last four games/dlc/modes/prices. See how it stacks up..

Is Treyarch the one doing this post of the game?

Surprised how many people don't know CoD passes have been 50 bucks. You also get 4 content updates compared to cheaper season passes in other games with less content. I feel it's priced appropriately.

What are you talking about?

The game is complete. This is an extra mode. The game as has much content as other 60 dollar releases.

It have as much content as CoD WaW (a 6 yrs old game). This is the issue for me.

You could see every GTA game growing bigger in content with every iteration, Rockstar has always tried to deliver MORE with the same amount of money, why CoD can't do the same?

Nice to see you're the one that's full of it.

Check out the post I made in the review thread a couple of hours ago where I said I might actually pick this up.

Moron.

So this news (that isn't news and is unlikely to be true but would actually be an improvement over what was advertised so far) is what swayed your decision?

And I'm the moron?

1. This is BULLSHIT

2. WTF is this game even doing with a Zombie Mode? This isn't a Treyarch game... these guys should be doing their own thing!

I have a friend who ONLY plays these Coop horde modes in COD games... he's going to fucking flip when he hears this news...

While I don't think it's that big a deal to include extra game modes in DLC. In this case I find it pretty dirty even for Activision because they tease you with a single round of Zombies in the main game.

They should have at least provided us with a single map and a full out zombies mode for said map. Because let's be honest here, out of all the extra modes we've gotten with COD games, spec ops/survival/zombies/extraction, survival is the probably the least favorite. Sledgehammer missed an opportunity to create something new here, robots, dinosaurs, anything really.

A season pass costs almost as much as the main game? Activision is the most terrible company.

I don't get what's the problem, they have a large team which releases a lot of content in a year, what is wrong? It's optional and there are huge fans of COD who only want to play cod.

I know people who play this more than mmo players play an mmo, it's literally like paying a subscription cost for consistent content.

Looking forward so seeing how far they go with it and what bullshit peopl have been conditioned to defend at will.

The video game industry could teach a master class in how to condition its consumer base to not only accept-- but also to defend-- everything.

There's been a successful movement to alter general view towards empathy for the industry instead of towards the consumer.

I haven't been insterested in playing a Call of Duty game for 6 or 7 years now, but it's fun to keep up with the news surrounding them.

This seems like a pretty unfair deal to me. Anyone who feels particularly strong about it should remember to vote with their wallets.

No offense, but each iteration of CoD isn't necessarily a "new" game. One of its main critcisms is being a rehash of the same thing year after year.

So, in a sense, they are comparable.

urgh i hate season passes and map packs on multiplayer games. the playlist always dies because the map packs segregate people.

they should just make a f2p CoD with TF2 mechanics.

Jesus. Why not just sell a download only cod zombies.

At least nintendo has the right idea on dlc. I just hope they keep the content similar to what they're doing with Mario Kart.

Who is honestly surprised by this?

No one. What truly surprises me though is just how many people will buy this season pass for $49.99. And as long as people keep buying his stuff companies like EA and Activision will keep selling them.

Well, you made an unfounded assumption and dismissively accused me of lying without any knowledge of the person you're talking to. So well, yes.

There were two main reasons I was potentially looking at when buying another COD. One was a decent and fun single player campaign which after MW2 (which I though was average compared to MW) seems to have been largely missing from the franchise. And the other was the Zombie Mode which I've heard is great fun, and I haven't played yet due to my not buying of any COD since MW2.
Why would any sane person who's simply looking to reintroduce themselves to the franchise buy a game where they know they'll need to pony up another $50 just to play the feature they want?

So anyway. Just move on. You were wrong to make an assumption about me. I called you out on it. You then couldn't seem to handle the fact you were wrong so you attempt to spin the argument into something else. It doesn't work. Deal with it. Just like I am by not buying the game(if this is true). Simple.

Yes, they are new games.

The fact that they have similar mechanics doesn't make them the same game.

So far the only thing I'm disagreeing with is when people say the game has the exact same amount of content as before.

Ghosts had Single player, multiplayer, Squads (which in itself had a bunch of modes) and Extinction. All that without any extra DLC purchase necessary.

The outrage in here is great, and it seems to be from people who don't have the game, were apparently going to get it, or people who didn't know the series has had a season pass for that price for a good number of the games which makes me wonder if they are just in here to moan for the sake of moaning.

As for the mode, who knows, no one in here actually seems to really know much about the supposed zombies part of Exo Survival or any sort of actual Zombies Mode. It isn't even like other franchises that advertise content you can only get with a season pass or special edition long in advance of release. Activision or Sledge Hammer haven't mentioned it at all, the game has never been advertised as having this mode that was apparently taken away from so many suffering gamers in here, it was never a point the publisher or developer tried to sell the game on.

As comparable and as much of a new game as pretty much any other sequel for any other franchise that comes out within a few years like most do, what a silly statement to make.

Look at the progression of Halo 1 to Halo 2, in keeping with my original point.

Now, try and splice out the differences between MW1 and MW2. This is my point. I get that sequels tend to carryover the mechanics from one game to the next. However, you cannot contradict the fact that CoD has been criticized time and time again from recycling--not progressing--its series.

I was thinking about picking this one up, skipped ghosts so it's been awhile and I do like some COD action from time to time.

After hearing this I'll be waiting for used. I just don't like the trend. I wouldn't pay $110 for the game if it all came out at once, and I'm not going to pay $110 to have it trickled to me.

I do think the vanilla game is probably worth $60, but I'm going to buy it used because that's how much I don't like the trend. It's not that I don't want to support the developer; I want to cast my vote that says "I'm not OK with this."

That image is old news, we need a new one.

Hehe.

Halo: MCC is going to make people rethink what $60 worth of content actually means.
Hopefully not. I mean, MCC is a great value indeed, but if most people will suddently start to expect 4 games for the price of $60, then the gaming industry will probably crash (games will still excist of course, but it will change much).

People expect popular features and content in franchises to return with sequels, regardless of who the developer is. And, in this case, it's the sequel of a well established game series made by a couple of developers who are with the same publisher.
It wasn't in any of the Modern Warfare games, it wasn't in Ghosts, it had always been something only in Treyarch games. People have dealt with only getting zombies every 2 years since World at War so I don't know why it's suddenly a surprise.

That statement is ridiculous you are comparing a full remake of four games vs a standalone entry. I can't believe there are people in this world that actually get mad that a game series they don't like makes a decent entry.

All AAA titles now cost $100-120 for the full game experience. We should just accept it.

That price is hilarious. I can't believe people pay that much to play call of duty. What a world.

What a world where people like a game, and want a lot of content from that game, and would be glad to pay the same fee as an MMO subscription (in fact cheaper) for consistent content across the year.

What a world indeed... -.-

This is old news. I'm guessing they were pressured by fans to implement a zombie mode for the game and they decided to do it.

Yeah they could've released it for free but it's Activision we're talking about here. This shouldn't be a surprise by now.

I know many people who don't buy any other shooters than COD so it's worth that much to them.

If only I could skip buying CoD and just by the stand-alone season pass. I just want the zombie mode, the rest can GTFO.
