Holy shit, I'm an idiot.

I just now, after all these years, realized that 'BB' as in 'BB gun' stands for "Ball Bearings." Some guy on the news was talking about "BB holes" and I said "Why did I never think about that?"

My coworker and I just had this realization this morning.

I'm 32 and I've never realized that either.

i didn't know that either! let's pretend we aren't idiots.

Never realized that either.

Count me as mind blown too. Damn.

If you have a suspicion based on physical evidence and witness testimony you have a reasonable suspicion.

Anything else is unreasonable.

Your second statement is also not supported by the history of terrorism carried out within the United States.

Recent history it absolutely is.

9/11 changed the world forever.

Stunned? What's to be stunned about?

Did you forgot:

It's not unreasonable to have a suspension that this was led by radical Islamic terrorists. This isn't racist, this is simply fact that they have dominated the movement of worldwide terrorism.

Yep let's ignore all the times a disgruntled non muslim went berserk and terrorized people. Good plan.

And I don't know how the fuck anyone could possibly forget about 9/11 with how much it's been fucking jammed down our throats about personal freedoms being stolen by "non-white non-christian" peoples.

My brothers wife gets a panic attack if she sees arabs with beard and dress on the plane, thinking they will hijack it....

Do people actually think terrorist will be dressed like that. They would cut their hair dressed in hip clothes etc so not to attract attention to themselves.

Ah well.

Wait so your considering Sandy Hook an act of terrorism?

I'd rather not get in to the semantics of what Sandy Hook, Aurora and this were. I just said mass murderers, not terrorists. The definition of terrorism is debated by some people, mass murderer is not.

I think it has less to do with the history of foreign terrorism and more to do with the majority of americans afraid to believe in domestic terrorism in the states.

Okay... who is the guy with the super strong Boston accent who looks like Colin Powell? That's the mayor, right?

Chill.

It is reasonable to suspect Islamic Radicals.
It is equally reasonable to suspect Radical Domestic Right-wingers.
It is most reasonable to let the authorities do their job.

I get the feeling people are hoping for it to be one thing or another depending on their personal politics, but I hope that's not the case.

Wow. Insane footage. Definitely captures the initial confusion and then the immediate panic when the 2nd one goes off.

The footage is amazing on several levels

You can see the runners as they stop dead in their tracks from the first explosion
people confused
some people start running the other way
the second bomb going off and people starting to sprint and go nuts
pushing down the street dividers

Wait so your considering Sandy Hook an act of terrorism?

If you don't think the slaughter of innocent children nor a theatre attack on innocent moviegoers acts of terrorism, then it only gives credibility to your assertion that terrorism = "Muslims have to do it."

Your logic makes no sense. The bottom line is, anyone of any color, creed, or religion could be responsible for the attacks and your "research" doesn't change that fact a bit.

And it's "you're."

Recent history it absolutely is.

9/11 changed the world forever.

I can't believe 9/11 totally erased people's minds of all the lone white nuts in the 90s who committed terrorism.

I guess you're just too young to remember?

the black guy is the governor. I wouldn't say he looks like Colin Powell. The Mayor is quite white

No, I'm talking about the white guy. He looks like Colin Powell. I chose not to use the wording "white Colin Powell" out of respect, but yes, this guy looks like a more Caucasian looking Colin Powell. Please tell me I'm not the only person who sees it...

This one right here.

Haven't seen that photo to my knowledge prior.

You would think the death toll would be much higher than it is now if they were standing that close to the bomb. I was under the impression that it came from behind the crowd. Not sure about that though.

What comes next: Here’s how the feds will investigate the Boston Marathon bombing

Written by Counter Terrorism czar who worked for Clinton and Bush Jr.

Sorry if this has already been posted
Thanks for sharing, that is some incredible shit. Reassembling a bomb from tiny pieces blows my mind.

If you mean this guy, then yes, it's the mayor.

The first one clearly did. This apparently is the second bomb, which at least I haven't seen a very clear shot of.

Oh yeah, now that you mention it... That's the Mayor

I'm going to loudly laugh and point at you to cover up the fact I didn't know, either.

No, not at all.

Timothy Mcveigh was an act of domestic terrorism.

Sandy Hook elementary was not. That doesn't mean that it wasn't an unspeakable tragedy.

My point wasn't that it couldn't be someone of any denomination, creed or color, it was that recent terrorism or terrorist threats have been mostly been led by Islamic extremists and to simply throw out the notion that it couldn't be them - is silly.

If the Time Square bombings actually took place, this would be an entirely different conversation, but since 9/11 is for some a distant memory of the past, this sentiment is being poo pooed.

Their threat is still present and to think that what we experienced 10 years ago was the last of it, is foolish.

I was born in Boston and lived there most of my life. Can someone please remove this tag from me? It's incredibly insensitive to victims of terrorism and human beings.

But what's to say this isn't just a senseless tragedy?

Anybody else feel like it'll be months before we know anything? I feel like an American-national will be difficult to find. And as we know with Bin Laden, so is a foreign national.

Fucking hell, it's not about throwing out any notion, it's about not jumping to moronic conclusions without any justification.

Anything else is unreasonable.

Sharks kill beach-goers. Even though only 3 people at average are killed by sharks per year, more deaths are caused by sharks than anything else you might encountered at the beach.

- You're a lifeguard at a beach.

- There's a crowd of children playing somewhere beyond the shoreline.

- Hear screams.

- A child goes under.

- Children are scrambling back to the shore.

- You dive in, are able to locate the child who went under and pull it away from whatever had grabbed. The child's foot is missing.

- No one saw anything, and you lack the medical training to properly discern the cause of the child's severed foot.

Jumping to the conclusion that a shark is responsible is quite unreasonable. The dismemberment could have been caused by getting tangled in seaweed and sharp debris.
