LMAO.

...of course I can.

I wasn't stupid enough to update, or to remain online.

I can have as much fun as I want.

Heck, this even dropped from the slots for me, today.

It is awesome.

Zane getting buffed basically confirmed he was weak compared to other classes. Or others were OP, if you want to look at it that way.

Since I wasn't using Fl4k's Guerillas in the mist, King's Call nerf stings the most for me; such a fun weapon. :(

Moze and Amara have builds just as good at boss melting as FL4K did, but neither of those classes are played by as many people as FL4K. It's basically the tallest blade of grass effect. One of those two will get the nerfbat next, probably Amara.

The bummer about FL4K is that crit is his only real endgame build. Pets are garbage at that point, particularly in multi or with a mayhem modifier.

Seriously, what's the point of mayhem 3 mode if they are going to nerf any build having the audacity to actually survive it? Pretty much all builds are viable for reaching lvl 50 and probably even mayhem 1 so what's the big deal if there are only a couple who can go the extra mile? To alot of players, finding and perfecting those builds is the whole point of the fucking game!

They should implement mayhem 4 if they are butthurt that players have already found some ways to comfortably survive their "endgame content" but nah, that takes a bit more work then moving a couple of sliders up and down.

Like i said, give them till mid or late October to really fine tune this game. There will be many buffs and nerfs by then.

It shall be reduced to completely homogenized vanilla-flavored drivel by 2020.
They supported, well still support, borderlands 2 after 7 years. Borderlands 3 is built for a long haul like that too. Just too many people blowing through the game and getting upset over tweaks happening within the first 3 weeks. They'll keep tweaking stuff until its perfect or near perfect. Say what you want about Gearbox, but they support their Borderlands games as good as anybody else does their games.

I just realized why I've never liked any of the Borderlands games... everything is ugly as hell. The character designs, enemies, vehicles, maps and even almost all of the weapons look stupid IMO. I don't have any desire to progress because everything I'm looking at as I play looks horrible. I mean I'm fine with the cell shaded look and I get that it's a post apocalyptic type setting but still.... It's all just so.... bleh.

Has anyone else been having audio issues since the update?

I have been having a recurring issue where I will here sounds that are close to me just fine, but anything beyond 10-15ft becomes severely muffled or even just completely silent. Its not my headset because I am not having the problem with any of my other games. Its just Borderlands. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I've always had some weird issues but it was mainly with NPC directional audio during conversations. For instance if an NPC is talking to me and I'm directly in front of them it's fine.

Yet if I'm slightly to the right of them looting stuff it's like the audio is still projecting to the direction they were originally facing but sounds super far away. I play with speakers and have always noticed that.

Nope.

Then again, I had the foresight to go offline on the 17th.

I'm still looting mad good Anointed Legendaries, btw.

...and the claim that Legendary Class Mods only drop if you are online is a bald faced lie, fyi.

I feel bad for the mooks who got duped by the massive online effort by Gearbox to paint that ugly fib as the truth.

I have come across that as well, but not as often as the audio issue I mentioned. Also noticed that sometimes certain characters audio is skipped entirely. I made a secondary character and when I returned to Lilith with Vaughn that his voice lines weren't playing at all, but Lilith was still responding as if he had spoken.

The crazy thing is I haven't had any other issues to speak of with the game. Just audio problems.

I kinda feel ya on this one. Borderlands 2's locations had me all kinds of interested, while I haven't had any affinity with them in 3. Like, none. For me, it's because of the lacking performance and visual rawness. I'm that kinda guy that needs atleast a solid FPS to really enjoy and take in what's going on around me.

nonsense. he had only one build. rakk attack is shit in mayham, the same as other one. you do not nerf good builds in the prospective of shit builds, you boost them to match it and that way create a build diversity, of course in real world, there is going to be no same same, because there always will be that one build that is slightly more or less better than other builds of the same character, that is real world. they took a lot of from Diablo 3, but they did not took most important thing! it is, that you don't nerf good builds, you buff weak builds. in this games life, it is going to be mayham 4 and mayham 5. they nerfed almost everything and that is bad design. if you taking BL1 and BL2 into perspective, those games, even after this time, has builds which are OP, so stop this nonsense about OP.

So you want to be able to cruise through their hardest mode and bosses? That's why they nerfed it. Things ARE op, and there still are if you look good enough. But they want some things to stay. You just can't have one definite character being leaps and bounds better than the others. Plus i like the changes. It'll give people a reason to try different builds and weapons. Would it be nice if they buffed other skills instead of nerfing? Yes, but then they'd have to buff every enemy as well.

Which ONE DEFINITE CHARACTER, was leaps and bounds better than the others?

Is it Zane, on Opposite Day?

Because if you don't think that Moze and Amara are equal to or better than Fl4k, then you've got 'dem misogyny sites ratcheted up to -8.75.

Because they are better than Fl4k was pre-patches.

For those that are still doing the campaign on normal and haven't finished it. Don't do any of the sidquests that are lower lvl because they'll automatically scale to lvl once you finish the campaign. I would argue to leave all sidquests alone unless your somehow behind the main quests lvl.

It makes lvling to 50 much easier once you beat the campaign. The claptrap parts, typhon logs, vault challenges also scale and give decent xp once you clear the campaign.

edit: Although since Normal and TVHM are two seperate modes that you can switch at any time. It's arguably better to leave your sidequests that give legendaries alone until lvl 50 on normal then you got two chances for better stat rolls.

That's how I go about leveling up other toons: main story and then side quests until lvl 50. I'm not obsessed with lvl 50 legendaries though although I am slowly switching out my stash with higher level ones. It's good to have some good ones for leveling up other classes.

Stash limit needs an upgrade ASAP.

Fl4k's critical hit build was by far the best class. You go online and everyone was using that same build. Be parties of 4 Fl4ks all the time. Amara and Moze are good, but pre patch don't act like Fl4k wasn't easily the best character.

Naaaaaaah, son. Just... nah.

Fl4k was the one whiners complained about most.

Probably due to the gender politcs, and probably bitter Zane mains who refused to adapt (I mained Zane first... but I adapted).

Amara and Moze not only could and CAN still clear full-screen AND bosses faster than pre-patch Fl4k, but they do it with absolutely ZERO risk of dying. Even pre-patch Fl4k had to proactively watch his ass, lest he expose it and die for his troubles. The girls never had such worries.

Zane sucks. Always has since launch.

I have level 50 toons of everyone but Zane, whom I stopped abusing myself with just shy of level cap.

So yeah.

Seriously, Zane has never been bad. Utilize kill skills and clone swapping, i don't get why people can understand that.

And yes amara and moze can clear out hordes easily, but Fl4k did and still does melt bosses better than anybody

Amara literally sub-second kills bosses.

And Moze is maybe a second behind that.

Meanwhile, Fl4k needs 8 seconds of GITM to bear down scope for those "3 second" boss kills.

Fl4k was good. The girls were, and are, better.

The only thing Fl4k had over Amara and Moze was how easy it was to kit him up, to make him a beast.

But pre-nerf(s), looting up decently rolled Legendaries for the girls wasn't even that hard.

As a Tales From Borderlands fan it kinda annoyed me how they turned Rhys and Vaughn into retarded caricatures of themselves.

edit: I think we'll see Salvador return as a playable character for dlc since none of the characters can dual wield.

I dunno about Axton though, kinda think they're gonna turn him into a villain.

It'd be fun to actually see hero turn bad. They teased it in the story but to actually have it would be fun. Plus axton is like the most generic person so i doubt fans would hate him turning.

I know they said there would be no dlc characters, but somewhere down the line i think there will be. Maybe after a year of it being out.

Lol, those assholes nerfed FL4K again. Added a 2-second retrigger cooldown on Leave No Trace, so now you have a *chance* to get a maximum of 2 ammo back during the duration of Fade Away. Three points well spent, sigh. Maybe next patch they'll remove FL4K's ability to wield guns.

I wonder how much will finally be enough to get people to stand up against patently false advertising and blatantly criminal bait and switch that is tantamount to theft, and just sue these assholes into a level of fiscal bankruptcy that matches their bankruptcy of ethics?

It's weird how when I ask my friends about the game everyone loves it. On here its slideshow, garbage, criminal and worth shouting derogatory expletives at dev's about it.

I was born in the 70's. This shit looks so good these days it's like playing a cartoon. Amazing. I'm amazed everyday with video games. I'll be getting this one too.

In what manner, pray tell?

I like to post facts.

When people post nonsense, I like to refute it.

There is no emotional content here.

And yet somehow I think Bruce Lee would not be disppoint.

I got back to Zane and I'm actually liking him now; hell, loving him! I don't know if it's the buffs or I just didn't gave him enough of a chance last time but he's a ton of fun to reach another lvl 50 with.

How he compares to others after that is probably another matter altogether but whatever; having fun reaching that point with him is good enough for me.

And yeah, Gearbox should maybe prioritize fixing the horribly lagging menus and so on, instead of how much it pains them if some high-level players came up with ways to take down bosses in a matter of seconds.

Beaten the game twice now, once as Zane and once as FL4K. I gotta say, the story is great but holy crap is the writing bad. I figured out the games twists about a quarter of the way through, and literally yelled at the screen more than once when characters made remarkably stupid decisions.

The best characters in the game are literally side characters, while all the mains just seem to be written as afterthoughts.

The bosses are way to bullet spongey, the Eden6 boss especially. Even decked out in purples and oranges I thought that fight would never end, I actually quit once because I got bored fighting him as it wasnt a challenge but just so damned tedious.

The Maliwan villain seemed to be far more interesting to me then the mains, who were just obnoxious. Plus they left huge plot strings just hanging there and never came back to them. They should have swapped them around, to be honest.

Typhon seemed to be the only character that actually learned anything for the main story, and did something with it. Jakobs (who I thought was great) also did, but he isnt a main.

The levels are way, way to big with little to nothing in them or so full of enemies that it's a Turkey shoot. Also, anything that thinks respawning timers on that kind of level design is a good idea needs to be drug out behind the barn and be given the ol' yeller treatment.

Overall, I want to like the game. I really, really do. The overall plot was great, and had a ton of potential. But they just botched so many things that I cant bring myself to enjoy it. I'm hoping the DLC provides some real replayability, because I just cant see myself playing through through them more than once if they arent far better than the main game.

On the plus side, the new vehicles are a riot, and I'm hoping at least one of the DLCs involves racing of some sort because that would be a blast.

But for now I think I'll just go back to 2 and TPS to get my fix, and wait to see what happens. God this game was such a letdown.

Am I the only one who thinks that the writer didn't actually play the other games? Like genuinely. I kept thinking "Man, this guy was handed a general lore dump and that was his only source of info" as shit was unfolding in the game.

Yeah, they've set up a bit of a sibling rivalry thing between the two main jackasses which could've taken the story somewhere interesting but ends up going absolutely nowhere. Change of writers is definitely noticable but not because it's so different; it's because it feels like a bad immitation of Burch's B2 writing (which wasn't all that special anyhow) instead of its own thing. And no, having some topical wokeness injected isn't "its own thing" nowadays.

Im with you on that. I grew up playing Asteroids in an arcade, so every game is pretty amazing today. Unless I is a walking simulator or thinly obscured casino loot box pay to win affair.

Still enjoying Zane despite him not being an OP win button.

The good thing about Zane is that since half his skills don't even work it doesn't matter what build you choose.
:messenger_hushed:

What an illuminating read, that redit post on this...

Imagine releasing a game built around passives, a lot of which don't even work as advertised... Did anyone there playtest this shit before release at all?

And then they have the balls to waste their time nerfing people's fun with the game instead of fixing plethora of more pressing issues.

Each character has roughly 40 different skills and 3 action skills with 6 augments. There will be tweaking for awhile. They have been great at fixing things, just give them time. Like i said many times in this thread, by the end of October this game will be near perfect.

As far as loot "nerfs" go, go play BL1 or BL2 and see how long it takes to get 1 legendary. By the time you get 1 in those games i can get 50 in BL3. Legendaries don't feel special anymore because they're so common, which is why I'm actually glad they decreased the drop rate. This game is supposed to last 5+ years, i don't want all the best gear less than a month after of playing.

They advertised the lootsplosions - tons of Legendaries and all.

This is a bait and switch, and is tantamount to false claim advertising.

As to the bugs... we should not tolerate shoddy execution. Testing and correction is something to be done BEFORE releasing a product. This is such a basic, fundamental standard, that it truly boggles the minds of most of us who are past their mid-20s, as to how the parents of this gen failed so miserably to teach their kids about basic self-respect, as consumers, that said kids are not only willing to accept broken things as new purchases, but actually DEFEND the shysters selling them. It is a sad new world.

Developer: Gearbox Software
Publisher: 2K Games
Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, PC
Release: September 13, 2019
Genre: First Person Shooter/Action RPG

Borderlands 3 was developed by both Gearbox Texas and its recently established Quebec studio. Gearbox, an American outfit, started out developing expansion packs for Valve's Half-Life: Opposing Force and Blue Shift. They were considered very successful working on another company's engine (in this case, Valve's GoldSrc) and that established a pattern that the company would follow for the next two decades. The first Borderlands, released in 2009, represented a return to the company's sci-fiesque, Half-Life inflected beginnings after half a decade pushing out Brothers in Arms titles for Ubisoft.

Gearbox had developed the first two Borderlands titles back-to-back, consecutively. Exhausted by the endeavor, studio leaadership changed gears and started production on a new IP, "Battleborn", which unfortunately did not perform as expected, overshadowed as it was by Blizzard's Overwatch. Needing a win after a disappointing release, Gearbox returned to the Borderlands franchise. This is the result.

Paul Sage is Borderlands 3's director. It is his first major game credit at Gearbox. Sage's background is in RPGs, particularly of the online kind. He worked with Richard Garriott at Origin on Ultima Online. Later, he served as creative director for The Elder Scrolls Online, Zenimax Online's flagship title.

Scott Kester is the lead designer for Borderlands 3 and a Gearbox veteran. Scott worked as one of the main concept artists for the first two games in the franchise, being instrumental in the decision to "hand ink" most of the textures in the game, giving it its pseudo-"cel shaded" look. His last major undertaking was as Art Director on Battleborn. He listed his major influences as: "Killer 7, Gungrave, Jet Set Radio, Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Wind Waker, Prince of Persia 2008, the Street Fighter series, and more recently games like Sunset Overdrive, Guilty Gear Xrd, and Splatoon. "

They advertised the lootsplosions - tons of Legendaries and all.

This is a bait and switch, and is tantamount to false claim advertising.
I killed a boss earlier today and got five legendaries for doing so. Other times I've often had three or four drop at once. What more do you want?

If anything, I think there should be fewer drops from bosses (in number, not frequency), and slightly more from the standard areas of the game. Right now, the game is setup to reward you for fighting bosses over and over, and I think that gets old when compared to running through areas.

A raid with raid specific loot would be a nice addition, and I do think they mentioned having a raid in development.

I’m playing on a standard Xbox One and the performance is atrocious. Incredible lag when accessing skills/weapons/map, random freezing/stuttering and has caused my console to crash 3 times during around 7/8 hours of play. Massive shame. The handsome jack collection runs so much better.

Anyway.. away from the issues, the game is a blast. Just more Borderlands mayhem that you’d expect. I’m playing as FL4K and the other half is Amara. Level 14 at the moment. Was originally running with FL4K’s fade away/guerillas in the mist tree but just respec my points and put them all into the hunter tree. Flak attack is so much more fun. We farmed Gigamind for a couple hours Saturday night because the SO wanted the legendary weapon he drops.. it never dropped but I got a great purple revolver that is doing insane damage right now.

So now my Xbox powers on and powers off immediately after 3-4 seconds. It’s a day one edition Xbox, had it since release. Could be a total coincidence but after the performance issues/freezing and crashing Borderlands 3 caused my console at the weekend, I think it’s broken it 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

Moze is so Goddess.

Like, even her mortal builds are immortal.
I got two of the deathless mods with front loader shield over the weekend on Amara and I'm like (welp guess I'm a moze player now)

On another note we need more damn storage. Mule's aren't very practical since it takes nearly 90 minutes for a new toon to get to sanctuary.
