Brag about your useless talents

Ha, hilarious that you should mention it, but one of my hobbies is making fan made music videos, completely self taught, on Premiere. I really obsess about motion and how the scenes move with the music.

I would love to do it professionally, but you have to like, have a degree for that.

The poetry thing is spot on too, I'm really good at coming up with pretty decent poems on the fly. Won one of the Gaf poetry threads with one I wrote in five minutes >.<

As for rap, eh, I'm not much of a fan (though I do love the more complicated stuff like freestyle), and there isn't really a market for female rappers anyhow :p

Nice! I am happy to hear you are making use of those very rare talents. Would love to see some of your work.

Speaking of which, have you considered finding some independent bands you like and who want video work done? Degree or no, if you hit the right market at the right time with a cool video and the band ends up taking off.... It's a crapshoot for sure, but so is everything in the music industry.

I could balance the shit out of a broom. While balancing it I could move it from fingertip to fingertip, then I could let it drop down to my right foot and balance it there while hopping on my left foot. While it's balancing on my right foot I could kick it back up to the palm of my hand, from there I place it on the tip of my thumb so that I could then place it on my chin. It's pretty cool, totally useless.

I need a youtube video of this.

I can bend my feet almost completely around to the point that my toes are facing away from me. I was born with a deformed pelvis that gives me a tilt that allows me to pivot backwards. That said, my natural standing position is "duck position" because of this, but I can walk straight with a bit of effort.

My normal voice sucks, but I'm actually really good at impressions and doing different styles of voices. I used to do a lot of great impressions before I had braces put in that scarred up my inner mouth and lips as a teenager, which made my voice more "mushmouth". That said, I make up different voices just for fun sometimes. I've thought about becoming a voice actor, but I don't know...I'm probably just full of shit.

I can mimic writing styles fairly well.

I can snap by placing my thumb and index finger together, then putting my middle finger on top of my index finger, and make the snapping sound by quickly moving only my middle finger. Basically like normal snapping (if you snap with your middle finger), but with your index finger in the middle of it all.

I can crack my fingers by closing my left fist firmly like Chong Li from Bloodsport.

how is this useless?

I can make fart noises by ressuring my hands into several different parts of my body: (other hand, armpit, under knee, chest, eye, ear, foot, dick)

My English is pretty good I think, at least among my peers.

The thing is I want to go to college and later live in US or UK, so that doesn't really make me stand out where most of the population is speaking the language better than I ever will (English isn't a native language of mine).

I don't think I have any other talents. I'm useless.

You should combine your writing mimicry and voice impressions to create an interesting podcast or audio book. The voice acting industry itself is very saturated with actors who take VA jobs because it's even harder to get normal acting gigs. A DIY approach is best right now, imo. These days, it's possible to prove your worth through indie efforts and create a brand for yourself.

Speaking decent English and being fluent in another language isn't useless at all

I don't feel it'll make me ever stand out anywhere though, especially in UK/US. I've thought of writing in English (probably not good enough English) or becoming an English-Turkish translator, but I don't think I have enough proficiency over both languages for either occupation. Given that bilinguality is also not that rare, it really doesn't feel like it's going to distinguish me much in terms of any competitive field.

I appreciate your reply though

BTW does it count as an useless talent that I can "separate" the visions of my eyes? So like if I concentrate hard enough, I get "double vision" (exactly like how two identical views seem to overlap if you hit your head hard or cry). There's basically another image on top of my normal vision, they overlap each other at an angle.

I can mediate for 2 hours straight. I don't do it anymore since it can get freighting. I feel like I go beyond life itself....the visions are powerful.

It's useless because I get the same useful benefits of mediation in a half, and hour, and it's more relaxing.

Being able to maintain the mindfulness required for meditation for two hours is not NECESSARILY useless. You might not be aware of the benefits like you are those gained from shorter sessions, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I meditate as well, and I thought my hour sessions were epic. Two hours is cray.

I'm really good at imitating voices. Think Optimus Prime, Gollum, Mark Hamill Joker, Crusty the clown etc etc. Well it's good for entertaining some drunk fools at times I guess :D

I can burp 30 times in a row in quick succession.

The reason there's a numeral limit is that I'm not trying to make myself puke.

I'm also a pretty kickass whistler. That probably has an element of usefulness somewhere, though.

I can spin my right hand back and forth super duper fast
Atleast my brother thinks it's cool
Or maybe it's pity, I dunno

I know every face I've ever met (reliably from when I was age 7 upwards I can tell where I met them). Just can't remember the names attached to it.

Like I'll forget a name within 5 minutes of being told. Not sure which is better

I can put my legs behind my head, and turn my feet 120 degrees either way while my legs are straight. It looks creepy.

I'm really, really quick at reading things backwards. I started doing it randomly while on long subway/bus commutes and now I can do it pretty damn fast.

It will never come in handy, but it's one thing I'm pretty great at.
