Jesus.

The Kremlin is having everyone murdered.

Anyone willing to talk about The Russian Connection might be better off staying in a Motel 6 out in Podunksville, Iowa.

I mean, the timing, location and everything else certainly lends itself to a conspiracy.

But the dude was about to turn 65.

Occam's Razor.

Once you start chasing conspiracies you can become blind to the truth, which can be even worse. Stay focused, stay critical.

High ranking Russian officials need better healthcare and a better retirement program. They trip and fall down stairs, get sick from gas leaks, or long drawn out illnesses due to environmental toxins. It's rough.

65 is a really early death by modern standards.

Well, in that case you can still be half-certain that the FSB did something and be critical at the same time. There are some interesting cases of accidents happening in the higher echelons of the Kremlin. The timing is very unfortunate, hm.

Maybe he had a terrible diet, a history of cardiac diseases and engaged in regularly drinking small bits of Polonium. Especially that last bit can kill you if you get the dosage wrong, but is surprisingly popular with Russian journalists and political dissidents.

Sounds like the plot to a Modern Warfare game...christ I do not want to be involved in a war...RIP Russian Ambassador.

Not as suspicious as the russian guy in dc who they claimed died while thrashing around his apartment wasted drunk...

Update:
He met with Trump a few years ago:

Russian ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin said on August 1 he had had two meetings with the Republican candidate for the White House, Donald Trump, who is the Republican candidate for U.S. presidency and the man had produced an encouraging impression on him.

Churklin said it while speaking to reporters at the UN headquarters.

"I met with Trump," he said. "I think our first meeting took place in 1986 and the second, a few years ago. He really impressed me."

Churkin recalled that he accompanied Soviet ambassador Yuri Dubinin on a trip to New York thirty years ago. Dubinin then had a meeting with a group of top business executives and Trump was among them.

Russian President Vladimir Putin was deeply upset to learn of the death of Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin, Russian news agencies cited Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying on Monday.

Krokodil tears.

Is anyone following Louise Mensch on twitter? She's currently badgering Michael Cohen and in general hammering the Russia angle with an almost obsessive zeal.

I keep switching between three positions; either she's gone a bit barmy which I think is the most likely, she's right in which case Trump is never getting out of Jail or Russia which honestly does not seem impossible, or she's running disinformation for Bannon.

Now I admit the last one is pretty out there but the way she keeps hyping the next revelation, hyping easily disproveable conjecture and a couple of other things have me half convinced that she's trying to delegitimise the scandal itself.

Then of course I realise I've fallen right into the trap and go back to awaiting news from sources slightly more reputable than Louise Mensch.

Still, this is all extremely fascinating.

She's an evil maniac don't listen to her about anything

Unless I'm missing something from the initial reports, why are people assuming Russia would even be involved?

He was absolutely allied to the Russian leadership, from what I can see.

RIP. As far as Russia officials suddenly dying, this is one ain't that suspicious unless we learn more. A heart attack at 65 isn't exactly rare.

It's gonna generate wild conspiracy theories, as partisans of "both sides" will say the other side killed him because there's no clear motive. You could come up with just about anything.

Yeah, that has up until now been a policy I've strictly adhered to but I'm mesmerised by her twitter. The fact that I would not have been surprised to see her defending Trump makes me even more surprised to see her leading any kind of charge against him.

Rhen you figure in how crazy she sounds and like I say, it's just fucking fascinating.

Not for Russia though, 64 is the life expectancy for males there.
The Guardian said:
Overall, a quarter of Russian men die before reaching 55, compared with 7% of men in the UK and about 10% in the United States. The life expectancy for men in Russia is 64 years, placing it among the lowest 50 countries in the world in that category.
