Look, I rag on Carol a lot, but unlike Slay and his crew, I like her a lot, I am just perpetually disappointed by how little Marvel does to make her truly compelling.

Sackhoff was lol worthy as a choice- she's...not a gifted actor.
I just can't see her as Captain Marvel. So I'm disappointed. But then again, she's a great actress, so I hope she changes my mind when I see her perform the role.
Growing up in the myspace generation, I always associated her with the the song she did as a teenager "She says" which happened to play on a random myspace page I went too, so I always imagined her as a one hit wonder. Imagine my surprise when over the last few years she began to emerge as a serious actress.

Charlize I can't see, but Emily would also have been a great choice.
Marvel will make you believe. I remember that time a chubby guy who was cast as Star Lord and thought they were nuts.
She was amazing on BSG.
She's weak on Longmire.
Katee would've been awesome for two reasons: she's hilarious and she looks physically capable in ways most actresses don't.

She's amazing on BSG in the same way that January Jones was amazing on Mad Men.
Play to her two strengths and don't let her do any heavy lifting and yeah, it might work.

Saying that, Brie seems like an awesome pick here. Marvel nails their castings 99% of the time, but she definitely feels like the right choice.

Love it. The only casting I would have loved more is Theron, but it's clear that they want to go with someone younger, so I have no issue with it not being her.
