BRINK Private Beta (PS3)

Man I got a splash damage dev friend on my (locked) steam account, for all I know he might have had a way to help me in. Anyways looked good from day 1 of info.

Well if this phase is just for a couple weeks to test for performance issues than I assume that further down the line they'll take in more testers to test for gameplay, etc.

P.S. I really still am banking on them releasing Brink in late winter .. "Spring 2011" feels wayyyyy too far away.

Were not asking for HD video (yet).
 
Any private beta with an NDA, most likely won't let you say anything other than you are in the beta or not. I will take our fellow GAFers silence as a sign that this game is awesome and they can't stop playing it.

There was a PAX demo already so I'm sure Bethesda wouldn't mind some positive buzz around the beta. They just don't want negative feedback or detailed write-ups getting around since the game is still under development and the beta wasn't meant for mass consumption.

Though I am still always very shocked at why people use YouTube to leak videos like this .. obviously it's going to get taken down ASAP.
 
I saw the video earlier and it kind of killed the excitement that I had for it. I love the artstyle and the concept but the gameplay looked really clumsy and the voiceovers were really awful. Hopefully it gets patched up some from the beta. When is it supposed to be coming out again?

Actually no. Turns out we are not supposed to even mention the very existence of the beta. I've got a warning from SCEE because of this thread :/

I think it's bullshit, but that's how it goes with this beta.

Wow, so I think it would be in everyone's best interest if this thread was closed (even though it pains me to suggest that).

Don't want anyone getting in trouble.
 
Played the demo level of the game in October in London without an NDA, I posted impressions in the Eurogamer expo. Overall I didn't think it would challenge the throne of TF2 or any other major class based shooter in it's league.

Taking stuff down off YouTube is really petty @SCEE, Zenimax. If anything you want people talking about the game.

(Never played TF2 .. and I have a new MBP and Steam .. is the game too old for me to buy now or do a lot of people still play it?)

Nah get it, it's an awesome game. I just reached saturation and the updates with hats rather than maps pissed me off. /OT.
 
I just got a code (hadn't checked mail in a while). What's this all actually about then, and should I be exited? My PS3 is currently dead so just awaiting reapir.

It's a class based shooter with a focus on traversal.

If you're not gonna use it can? Worth a shot and the risk of looking like a jackass.
Its a shooter with character customization, and if you preorder the game from gamestop you get doom cosmetic gun/armor. Apparently you unlock stuff, and people's heads are long, also its by the quake wars guys and published by bethesda.
 
Splash Damage (PRAISE THE LORD FOR ENEMY TERRITORY) is the king of online shooters, but I am still not sold on Brink. Hopefully this turns out to be great

THIS GAME NEEDS "MAINSTREAM" people to populate your game to make it feel like an robust online mp game.

BUT Rockstar is going to OWN YOU IN MAY, like Rockstar always does with every game.
Look at what Red Dead did to Allan Wake and now brink and that so dependent on people to play with !!!

JUST WAIT 2/3 more weeks PLZ !!! not just for us but for yourself because Rockstar is going to OWN YOU.
 
So is this the week we start seeing reviews and TTP's impressions??? I'm very anxious about this game...
