Brutal Legend Soundtrack Revealed (100+ songs)

Chaos Dragon said:
Good thing for custom soundtrack because none fo those songs appeal to me.

And you're buying this game why again?

"Damn loud debbul music in mah Brutal Legend; just like they rurnt my Guilty Gear with that noise!"

That said...

MOTHERFUCKIN RACER X.

MOTHERFUCKIN UFO.

MOTHERFUCKIN SAVATAGE.

MOTHERFUCKIN YES.

Having Tornado of Souls in any game makes it awesome in my book.

And hey look someone they also picked an oldschool In Flames song.

Well fuck me with a kipper, Cradle makes it into a mainstream game? And quite old school Cradle at that, brilliant.

Anyway, no Maiden aside, that track list is awesome, someone remind me that I have to play this game, and not just listen to it.

I really do not understand the decision to narrowly focus this game to just stoner/pot heads. The point Tim Schafer is to sell as many games as possible to make this game a mega success, not to narrow down who will buy your game, jeez.
Wait, a game set in a Heavy Metal world has too much Metal? seriously?

Fucking hell, some people will moan about anything.

Wow, it's like the Smash Bros. Brawl of Metal.

Looked straight for Dethklok, and I'm pleased to see they have a track. Shame it's just the one, but then most bands seem to only have 1 or 2 tracks, with only the most popular being the exceptions, so fair enough.

Out of their "clean" songs, I'd rather have seen Hatredcopter, but Mermaider is still a good pick. I prefer it over Thunderhorse in Guitar Hero 2 (which is still a good track, but I thought it was one of the weaker ones, partly because it didn't have any real lyrics).

WTF?

In what way? I hate guys like that.

The black metal song choices could be better, but I'm not going to complain. This game is going to fucking rule.

People whining about having metal music in a fucking game about a METAL WORLD need to GTFO. Have you people been following this game at all? Watch some of the videos. The entire game is lampooning and paying tribute to the history and culture of metal. If that doesn't sound interesting to you, then don't play it.

This game will find a healthy audience. Adult Swim's Metalocalypse has gathered a following despite being centered on metal culture, and I feel this will too.

because he's an artist, not a salesman

but uhh NO MAIDEN??? that's a pretty big hole... i mean it doesn't bother me personally since i've heard it all so many times... but it's hard to look at this game and not think iron maiden.

surprised to see so many people saying best soundtrack ever. well not really. fucking geeks.

Im pretty sure if we all wanted to be picky we could find a couple bands we wanted in there. Myself? Amon Amarth and arch enemy come to mind, but ill be damned if im not getting this shit day 1.

Edit : Not geeks bro, FUCKING METALHEADS!

Iced Earth for the MOTHERFUCKING WIN.

I grew up modeling my guitar playing after Jon Shaffer. It's just too bad it isn't the Barlow version.

You can also just use custom soundtrack to put on a awesome metal playlist ofcourse.

Game of the infinity. I am blown away by the soundtrack. The fact that bands such as Coroner (<3) and Carcass were considered is amazing. Wanting to nitpick, I'd have skipped Punishment for Decadence in favor of the more polished Mental Vortex; and that song from Carcass belongs to what arguably is their most accesible effort, Heartwork, I wouldn't have minded hearing something from Necroticism... instead, in my opinion, a perfect album where they managed to mix the brutality of their earlier efforts (Reek, Symphonies) and the technical prowess and polish of their later ones (Heartwork, Swansong).

Nice to see Testament in there, their latest album is fuckawesome, and they haven't mellowed one bit in all these years. Tornado of Souls is my favorite track from my favorite Megadeth album, so all is good in the world. Of course, having a Coroner song in there is worth the entry price alone. :D

Isn't iron maiden a harder band to obtain rights for or something ? I'm sure there is some sort of reason why it isn't in the soundtrack beyond perhaps schaffer not liking them much.

This game seriously needs something like Amon Amarth. It's truly lacking in that regard. At least there is some Iced Earth though.

Find me a better soundtrack. I don't get why you guys have to be so douchey. A lot of people happen to like a lot of these bands, if you don't like that just ignore it. Personally, I was on the fence with BL, but this just pushed me over. Looks like a very good track list, I'm excited. :D

Yah, it would be waaay better with some Weezer, rite dude? Love that genius Rivers Cuomo songwriting! Or some Muse!

Here's reality: you have heard probably 20% of the songs on that list.

Let me get you a barf bag, Georgie.

Given your taste in music and television, I think this certifies that this is one of the best game soundtracks I've ever seen. I'm going to buy this game on day one now.

I don't understand Dethklok lyrics. For that reason, I love Thunderhorse.

Riding.

Thunder horse.

Thunder horse.

etc

On the note of Dethklok, I too would have liked a track from Dethalbum II. Something like Bloodlines or The Gears would have been great.

This is a really nice, diverse soundtrack. I mean come on, who would have thought Carcass would make it into a video game? Respect to the people who put it together for trying to squeeze as much metal in there as possible, and like others have said, not picking the usual songs that have been played on the radio millions of times. A great example would be them not picking Paranoid by Sabbath. Thank god!

It' doesn't even bother me that Paramore is on there. Why not? Throw a bone to the pop-punk fans. Not gonna hurt anyone. I wasn't that interested in this game but after my first glance at this soundtrack and seeing things like Children of the Grave, I'm in.

edit: Oops. There's no paramore on the list. I was looking at the list Puck posted and there was Paramore and Blink 182 on there.

I hope to god you don't mean that it will be slow, floaty and uninteresting to people serious about the genre it pertains( or pertained in this case) to.

Now to dig into this playlist... or at least I hope I can access these songs freely...

>No Dio.

Aw shit.

Well there are Barlow era versions of those songs. They could be from Days of Purgatory.

Yeah, but they are using the original Pure Evil in the trailers. So I'm guessing the originals is what we get on the soundtrack. No problem imo. I'm just happy that Iced Earth is there.

For some reason, Maiden doesn't license very much.

If I remember correctly, "Run to the Hills" is one of the two songs from Rock Band 1 that you can't import into Rock Band 2.

no maiden :(

but still the best sound track ever

and im glad to see band ice earth and racer x ( pual gilbert <3 )

now we need rock band : brutal legend edition

EA Make it happen please

And yet, they have a 12 pack of DLC which includes a master of RttH.
