Well, not necessarily. He was already on Earth at the beginning of Halo 3; there's a reasonable amount of time that this game could take place during, in which he is allied with humanity, and not yet engaged in fighting alongside the Chief. Not that I think that'll happen, but it's possible.

I had considered that briefly, but didn't think it worth mentioning. The chances of Bungie doing an entire game on the Arbiter about the handful of hours which he was on Earth between Halo 2 and Halo 3 is less likely than this game being Halo 4.

From the "dialogue" I've seen so far and the sort of cutesy icons I've seen, I was expecting something a bit more light than a GRAW-Halo... in fact when I first saw those Superintendent icons I though it'd be an XBLA game, but now I'm not so sure.

As I said on the last page, I think a lot of gamers are pretty Halo-weary and think there isn't much left in the Halo story/universe to make interesting games out of.

Hell, if prior to the Halo announcement, I knew that Bungie's new game would feature a green super soldier in Mjolnir armour fighting aliens and rouge AI in long hallways, I'd probably be saying, "I hope this is not marathon related."

Of course. I was thinking along the lines of seeing him as a one-scene ancillary character or something like that. But, obviously, who knows. It would just be cool to have him and/or the Chief make an appearance.

It's not me that thinks that. Personally I am all for another game set in the Halo universe. Especially if it's set before the Halo trilogy.

I just know a few people who sigh at the mere sound of another Halo-related game.
