Bungie's Next Project - 'New Halo 3 Campaign Experience'

Way to sow confusion bungie.

I instantly got the vibe of tactical urban shooter, set parrell to Halo 3. New rampant AI mayhaps?

Those visuals look, odd, like a plasticy graw. What's going on there?
 
So we have a teaser about new Mombosa as it was in Halo 2....and yet the trailer says Halo 3 prepare to Drop...

Orbital Drop Shock Troopers?
 
Curious about the Halo 3 reference myself, but it's clear that we're watching ODST HEVs fall from the sky into various cities or districts which appear to be in Africa. It's also clear that these events take place in 2552, around the time of the trilogy. It looks like a completely different game using the Halo 3 engine, but other than that I can't figure out what the Halo 3 reference really is.
 
If I was Microsoft I'd also have used the FF13 trailer instead of this one.
My interest dropped as soon as I saw "Halo 3" written :(

I wouldn't mind if it was Halo-related, but a Halo 3 add-on/expansion is massive dissapointment. Halo 3 is nice and all, but the buzz wore off on that months ago.
 
Halo 3 campaign expansion but without the chief?...same time line, different characters? different gameplay?
 
My speculation:

ODST game that takes place during Halo 3 timeline. It'll detail all the background stuff that happened in Halo 3 (and hopefully prior to as well). Remember that huge battle mural? I can see this expanding on that. There was such disappointment when we didn't fight in a huge war scenario.
 
I thought for sure it would be a new project. I was surprised to see Halo 3 in there. But it's obviously helljumper-related. Maybe it's the squad-based game but it uses the Halo 3 engine?

EDIT: I'm dumb. What I just wrote makes no sense. It is a new project, obviously. Just weird to see Halo 3 in there.

New Mombassa.

The space tether is still up, so this is early in Halo 2.

Looks like Elite orbital drop pods coming down.

The slipspace explosion from Halo 2, when In Amber Clad follows the cruiser into slipspace, hits the city. The space tether falls, the city is mostly destroyed.

A human maintenance AI surveys the scene.

It's a fucking teaser trailer, guys. You shouldn't have expected any more.

So now we know a few things. This takes place in New Mombasa after the capitol ship jumps in Halo 2. The SuperIntendant doesn't look like a ship's AI, more like the city's AI. Annnnd now I have to go to class.
 
Fail. After the delay you'd think they could come up with something that isn't a cock tease that smells like it came out of the asshole of a hooker caught lying dead in Thailand.
 
That was fucking rad. I dont know what you guys are complaining about. I would have liked to have seen gameplay, but still. Pretty cool.
 
Was that trailer CG? Not much of it looked anywhere close to what a game engine would look like.

Maybe that's just me, though.
