Burgers are better when it's wrapped in lettuce.

I do the same thing with Wendy's Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers. Get that bread out of my fuckin' face. It is exactly as you describe, for me, OP.

I really hate giant regular buns (specialty buns are cool), so I'm fully down with this approach. Buns just make a burger so much heavier.

This sounds like a good idea to me. I like the crunchyness of lettuce in my burgers, even though it doesn't really add anything to the taste.

I made this GAF

what do you think

did i just divide by zero

I always get worried when I eat lettuce at a take out place. I always wonder if it's been in someone's genital area.

Man I really wish more places did this. I asked mcdonalds for a chicken sandwich with lettuce instead of the bread. The gave it to me in a salad container sitting on top of a bunch of iceberg lettuce...INCLUDING THE BIG LEAFY LETTUCE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A PERFECT BUN SUBSTITUE

Lettuce is the most worthless part of the burger, but I do often wish the buns were a bit smaller - I especially hate all the 'gourmet' buns McDonalds use for their promotional burgers. I always ask for them with a normal bun instead, which just seems to confuse matters.

Didn't know GAF was full of lettuce haters. I like the stuff!

That said, a burger has gotta have buns. Bread tastes too good not to have them.

Is that a.... lettuce... burger?
Okay, so I made a first one with most of a package of bacon and a little lettuce. Then I went for seconds, and I only had a little bit of bacon left, so I splurged on lettuce.

I regret nothing.

Even as non-meat eater, I want a burger when it's time for a burger. I love lettuce otherwise, but I eat rabbit food all the time and the lil bit of carbs won't hurt me. I have had to subsitute lettuce in lieu of bread because the bread was not vegan friendly, and it was still delicious. Doesn't beat a classic style, veggie loaded veggie burger though.

Sounds cool, but like others noted, I hate iceberg lettuce. Regular green lettuce, or romaine is better. Pretty hard to wrap in romaine though. I've never had a burger without a bun, though. That's realtalk. I've had hundreds or even thousands of burgers in my life, and every last one has come wrapped in some sort of bread. Potato rolls are probably my favorite, but I'm willing to try these lettuce creations. It sucks, but Florida (at least Miami) doesn't have In and Out or Carl's Jr. They run the Carls Jr. ads down here, as well as Jack in the Box (well, they used to run JitB ads), but you can't find one anywhere down here. I think the're in the panhandle, if anywhere.

We got 5 Guys (which I like) and Shake Shack, though. I haven't tried Shake Shack yet, but mean to. We also have BurgerFi and a couple others that are awesome. I'd have to say BurgerFi is my favorite burger place that I've tried. PEACE.

My toddler and my wife can't eat soy or dairy. We do five guys lettuce wraps all the time. I generally eat them out of solidarity.

I just made a sandwich with cheddar cheese, red onion, spinach, mustard, ranch dressing, and zucchini relish.

I put it all in a bun because i didn't have any lettuce. Sorry OP, but it's pretty good.

I don't order lettuce on my hamburgers when I am eating out. The only time I enjoy it on my hamburgers is when I grill them and I can use a nice fresh big head of lettuce that is crunchy. Other than that, keep that shit to the vegans.

iceberg lettuce is the best lettuce

other lettuce is so sad to eat and fuck nutritional value when youre eating lettuce that shit doesn't make the meal

Screw that, the bread is the best part. Soggy ass leaves are not a suitable replacement. I eat bread sandwiches sometimes (bread in between bread).

not sure if you dont know but we aren't designed to eat bread

have fun killing your body

try some coconut butter or quest bars

I'm with OP on this one, there's just something about a protein style 4x4 from In-n-Out that makes it great (on occasion). That something is the lettuce and its a lot easier on my stomach (white bread makes me feel sick). Where's CA-Gaf backing the protein style?
