All that and NO demo?

What is a picture pack? Gamercard pictures? Why would anyone buy those? Themes are cool though, not going to buy any though, PGR3 theme works fine for me.

while it was nice to see the trailer in high def, i cant rationalize 60 bucks for this

i can only afford one 360 game next month, and thats oblivion

He says near the end of the interview that there will be a demo 'soon' :)

Honestly, they should release a demo BEFORE the picture packs and themes. Sure, put out a video trailer, then a demo, but the picture packs and themes should wait till a game's release day. What's the point of picture packs for a game without the game?

After finally playing halo 1 & 2 on the 360 through an HDTV with VGA input, I have to say BO4 wont be much better looking than that from the pics I've seen.

Oh well, I'm just happy I waited for BO4 to play it on 720p/1080i.

I'm buying it. $60 is a bit much, but since I never played it on any other platform, and there doesn't seem to be another one coming out too soon, I'll pick it up. The uploadable replays thing sounds awesome.

I own and nearly finished the PS2 version of Burnout Revenge. I'm still buying this sucker the day it hits the 360. :D

I'm a total fanboy of the series and the thought of actually playing a Burnout game in high def is just too much for me to handle.

I've already got Thursday the 9th off from work just so I can play Burnout and GRAW all day long! :D

Looks like EA spent about as much time on this Picture Pack as they did on the achievements for their first 360 games.

...

i.e. NONE

WTF, a red "B" and a little line of flames on a black background? I feel violated.

I am sorry, but charging for "picture packs" is the stupidest bullshit in the universe. How about including those 32x32-pixel .gifs as a nice little bonus for the chumps who paid $10 more?

How about we make the demo AFTER the game development is completed?

Because that is what we are doing.

That way, you get a demo based on the final finished game code rather than something made months in advance - when nothing is finished, and the demo is no longer representative of the final game.

Prepare to get flamed to death.

Welcome aboard BTW!

I think you're forgetting that a lot of us know that games aren't finished 3 days before hitting the stores. For example, you guys just shipped Black a full week early to retailers and i'm sure you could also have a Burnout Revenge360 demo online a week before the games ship date.

Just like you guys forget that we all know it doesn't cost you an extra $10 per unit to develop a 360 game. :lol

Looks like some interesting achievements. Some will be insanely difficult and/or time consuming. From 30 on down is nearly impossible.

alex, your mindshare on GAF is at a lowpoint right now. Best not to get too antagonized by it and ignore it. Just get to work on a true next-gen project and all will be forgiven.

I totally forgot about the kiosks. AFAIK, it was never "exclusive". Here's the thread about it. http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=83733 The kiosk offers one car, the theme, and one gamer pic.

Yes, that is correct. Most of the EB and Gamestop stores I went into over the weekend didn't have a clue what I was tlaking about. You get a sweet XBox360 car and the Burnout 3 theme. Just take your memory card in and have at it. If the store clerks look at you like jerks, just ignore them.

If you're really intested I can post pics of the theme when I get home tonight. BUt it's free from any demo kiosk if you have a memory card.

Welcome, Alex :)

Are you able to answer any questions about Burnout? I really liked Burnout Revenge but it was pretty disappointing online as the Takedown system seemed too inconsistent (not getting Takedowns when you should have, hitting a car and getting taken down yourself etc). Has this been fixed in the 360 version, or is it the same as the Xbox version

I'll probably still buy it but I doubt any of my mates would unless this has been changed

Because demos are an extremely effective marketing tool to get people interested in your game. Game revenue is extremely front loaded, so getting the interest up as much as possible BEFORE the game ships is the priority. I'm sure the demo in kiosks is the reason that COD2 has sold so well, and why the 360 version of FNR3 is also going to sell well.

It's probably a good idea to release the demo after the final game. Don't want to lose any sales now...

Yeah, but then you get everyone bitching and moaning about a demo that truly doesn't represent the final game. The last 2 Need For Speed titles have suffered from that big time. I would rather a demo come out after the fact that represents the final game rather than a demo that is buggy or has features that didn't make the final cut.

That might be true if the game is a buggy mess before release. Burnout Revenge on the 360 was shown over a month ago at CES in playable form and all reports said the game played flawlessly. So, however you cut it, they could have easily put out a one track playable demo before the release.

I think it really comes down to fearing people's opinions once they play the demo and deciding not to buy the game. For example, FNR3 had a playable demo that rocked everybody's socks with it's next gen graphics. It's gonna help that game sell like crazy. Burnout Revenge on the 360 however, is only going to have slightly improved graphics and i'm sure they're afraid that might turn some people off when they realize this isn't the next gen Burnout game.
