I heard they were having trouble trying to get permission to sell it. Glad they pulled it off. Wish I could hear what it sounds like before I take the plunge.

Awesome, will buy!

I want to see more video game soundtracks on iTunes (MGS4 please?). Usually I have to import this stuff from Japan which is fucking expensive.

maybe sony can release it over psn like the pjm soundtrack, which is excellent btw

Niceness, those preview tracks from awhile back were cool, especially Leap of Faith. Hope they have the remixed theme from the trailer too.

YES. The samples they had on their website were fantastic.

I wish they'd do a real CD - they didn't mention if they'd be one - but I grabbed the digital one anyway.

BTW, they expect to loose money releasing this OST but still think it deserves.
if it cost them so much to get contracts up and the OST available for purchase that they doubt they'll break even, they should have just released it for free. they could even host them via torrents, thus removing any legitimate bandwidth costs they could endure. it would have basically been free advertising for the game.

I wonder, when he says it cost $10,000 to get "the product" up and running and that it'll probably lose money, does he mean it cost $10,000 to put a dozen MP3's onto a digital download service, or that it cost $10,000 to remake the music for BCR?

Like, didn't he already say that BCR was an incredibly expensive game to make that would probably lose money because it reused the already-paid-for game engine and assets from the new 3D game?

From the something digital link, the last three songs, tracks 13-15 list 'Not for sale'. Are they included in the album or not?

If you buy the whole album, yes. One of them is another remix, done by one of the Japanese folks. It's short, but alright - different style than the rest. One is the trailer theme, voiceover and all. The last is more or less a joke track.

Suzuki's Heroes by Marika Suzuki is a lot better than anything by Simon Viklund

I agree. I'd even say I prefer the original NES music over the BCR stuff and I'm far from being one those insane people who hate remakes because want everything to be the same.

So Simon Viklund composed the entire soundtrack? That's cool. :)
He is God. Yes, he composed (almost) all. This is the tracklist, there are 2 exceptions:
1. Simon Viklund - Bionic Commando Main Theme Rearmed

2. Simon Viklund - Heat Wave

3. Simon Viklund - Power Plant

4. Simon Viklund - Leap of Faith

5. Simon Viklund - Rise of the Albatross

6. Simon Viklund - BCR Menu Theme

7. Simon Viklund - Prologue & Epilogue

8. Simon Viklund - OK, WeÂ’ll move

9. Simon Viklund - Meet with Enemy and Decend

10. Simon Viklund - KilltÂ’s Hidden Treasures

11. Simon Viklund - Amongst Allies

12. Simon Viklund - Intruder Aler

13. Marika Suzuki - SuzukiÂ’s Heroes

14. Simon Viklund - One Man, One Bionic Arm

15. Hironobu Takeshita, Simon Viklund - Go Go Bionic

Wow, after previewing the whole thing, and seeing the 10 dollar price tag....

Well, it just makes me appreciate the 3 dollar PJM soundtrack so much more.
I can actually play that one as background music for a party.

Hate to be a naysayer, but the original NES soundtrack is one of my favs of all time, and I'm not really liking what they did to it all that much. It's clever and interesting and well arranged, but I really don't like that a lot of the tempos were slowed down just to add extra bits of electronica/dance in the gaps. A lot of the feeling is lost from the melodies and arpeggios to me when they're slowed down.

I can respect it, and I'm glad others dig it so much, but I'm not feelin' it.

I didn't expect anything out of the soundtrack and I don't mind supporting the devs so I bought it. It was a really neat surprise to hear the C64 Commando theme mixed into track 9... just too bad everything sounds awful. All I hear is repetitive melodies, tiring beats and just random noise. I've never been a big techno fan so I guess that's the primary reason I'm just not liking this.

When I get the game, I'm very tempted to turn off the music and just play Super Stardust HD's music instead.

Reading some of the negative comments I was worried before purchase, but after listening, it's a pretty faithful rendition of the old tunes. Can't WAIT to see the Albatross fight. :D

Oh, and the movie trailer track is hilarious. :lol

If Blaster Master was remade like this I think I'd never need to buy another video game again.

god damn it, when is rearmed dropping? I need dis!

and arrrgh, I don't have any money to buy this ost. :(

By the way, what are the previous works of Simon? And who is Marika Suzuki?

P.S. In Spanish "marica" means gay (in a despectively way). :/

Edit : Marika is credited as "special thanks (BGM)" in Panic Maker (Under The Skin) and as "music" in Dead Rising.

I just downloaded this. Frickin' bad ass and I never even got the chance to play the original. I'm hyped for this and the next-gen game.

I just listened to this and bought it. Wow. This is darn good! Way too good for just a XBLA/PSN title.

I want this guy to score the next Megaman Zero game.

Sadly these are some of the worst remixes I've ever heard for classic tunes. You'll find better remixes on ocremixes for sure. I don't see how one can fuck up such great tunes, but I guess it takes a Swede to manage that.
