Buyer's Remorse Thread (Let's Fish! Hooked On)

I wish somebody would do proper open world fishing game. Wii fishing resort was the closest thing to it. I had entertained picking this up, until I watched a youtube video of the gameplay. Fucking garbage.

I ended up getting the ass creed 3 limited edition because my brother in law wanted but shipping got screwed up and i ended up having to buy a second one. Anyways, I've play the game for about 2 hours and havent touched it in months. It looks cool but its just kinda meh i guess.

Every fighting game ever.

I get caught up in the hype and buy them, only to fire them up and realise just how fucking terrible I am at fighting games. I never learn :(

Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Just finished the first World last week and I've had the game since release. Such a disappointing game :(

As soon as I heard it wasn't a real RPG, I lost all interest. Super Paper Mario was a complete turd of a game, and I refuse to buy any more Paper Mario games until they stop fucking around and make a proper one again.

Sticker Star is even worse than Super IMO. At least Super embraced the fact it wasn't an RPG, instead of being a quarter-assed one.

I've got a lot of buyer's regret when it comes to Vita games. I just love the system so much that I've been taking more chances than usual on titles that I don't know much about, and I need to stop that now. Dokuro, orgarhythm, New Little King's Story, Ragnarok Odyssey, Virtua Tennis 4. None of them are bad games mind you, just not my kind of games really and I wish I hadn't picked them all up (or had at least waited for significant price drops before biting). Won't be making the same mistake with Let's Fish! ;-)

Heh I'll bite. Biggest buyers remorse this generation is probably xenoblade chronicles. After hearing nintendo gaf say this is the greatest game since anything and people comparing it ti my second favorite jrpg of all time on ps2 (ffxii) i bought it.

Long story short i played around 10-15 hours before being bored to death with the game, havent picked it up since.

I also have to say Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Probably the most boring game I played last year. Luckily I didn't pay full price for it. I still regret buying it, though.

Also Sword of Mana (GBA). This one I still own, but only because I am a hopeless Mana fanboy. It wasn't a bad game, but for something supposed to be a retelling of the first GB game it fell well short. To me it is worse than Children of Mana, from which I at least managed to derive a modicum of entertainment.

Oh man, Children of Mana was so terrible. The game was centered around switching weapons to clear obstacles in your path, but you could only hold two at a time before you had to go into a subscreen to change your equipment. Frustrating as hell.

...New? If you mean the thread I made, that's only releases in Jan and Feb.

I was referring to this one.

I've since seen better, more complete release lists, and it's a bit better than that thread would make you think. That being said, it doesn't do much for me.

Honestly, it's my problem. The lineup is pretty much exactly what I expected when I bought it. I bought it anyways. Therefore, I'm an idiot currently suffering from buyer's remorse. End of story.

Vita. It just sits there collecting dust.

Probably Anarchy Reigns as well. Sure, it was fun at first, but once the novelty wore off, all the inherent flaws began to surface. Lackluster SP, online usually a hit-or-miss, pre-order exclusive game types (no playing with friends that didn't pre-order from GS), complete lack of customization in multiplayer game types. My friends and I didn't play beyond a week. It's a shame, really wanted to like it. At least the soundtrack is pretty good.

Ya gotta admit though, smacking enemies around the screen with that strange physics system was amusing for the first couple of minutes. Could get pretty ridiculous.

Also, I liked the gem system where you equip skills, stats and effects on your character - probably mainly because it reminded me of Legend of Manas "Golem programming".

Other than that it was an utterly forgettable dungeon crawler with, like, five unique map tiles per dungeon and a shallow story. So sad. :´(

For me recently, Dark Souls. I loved the idea and really wanted to get into it, however, after playing for a few hours it didn't gel with me and I just found it boring to play. Wasn't the difficulty either. Oh well.

Golden Sun Dark Dawn - had to force myself through the game. Boring and a shell of the former games.

That downloadable Siren game for PS3. Spent $40 on it and countless hours downloading.

It was awful, just awful. Game was too dark too, hard to see a lot of stuff, even adjusting brightness.

Batman AA. I don't think I even finished, gladly I was able to sell it soon-ish.

Bu-bu-bu-but I thought we were bros :(

Mine? Kane and Lynch 2. What a DISGRACE to gaming, it's incredible such a trasvesy came from a humand mind. I BURNED IT to ashes. Thinking of it makes me want to puke.

The Gamecube and Vita hate....I'm melting...I'm meeeellltinggggg.....

Most recently for me - AC3 Liberation. It's such a subdued (read: boring) presentation, I really can't say what the story's about.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles on the 3DS

Not that the game was bad, but I bought a Vita and got Dynasty Warriors Next a few months later and now there is probably no way I can go back.

Soul Bubbles. I bought it after hearing a bunch of people on GAF say how cute and charming it is. I guess they forgot to mention that it's also not fun.

I... Loved children of mana. Good fun smacking enemies around the screen, and the gem system was great. The music, whilst repetitive we charming as hell.

I can see why people wouldn't like it tho.

Assassins Creed 3 which was good but the game needs to be fixed of bugs. Multiplayer was stil fun going G Style lol. The Vita, its a good handheld but only buying three games doesn't justify it for me.

Marvil vs Capkom 3.... I give it to my brother along with my old ps3, ans some other games. Re-bought all the games I give him, except for MvC3. A huge disappointment, specially since I played a lot of TvC.

Also, the ps3, but due to the "new" model. Just awful. I jut get it because it was $20 "more expensive" than the old model, and it came with one game (Uncharted 3, which I don't even intent to play, just opened to be sure the disc was in there). Should have gone cheap....

A handful of 2012 games come to mind:

Street Fighter X Tekken (just a snoozefest of a fighting game)
Soul Calibur V (just not as good as 2 or 4, imo. Felt like a been there, done that entry)
SSX (Had some cool mechanics, but does not even hold up to the PS2 era SSX titles at all and absolutely dreadful bottomless pits, need I say more?)

Virtue's Last Reward. I'm still in the first two, three hours, but the story is not grabbing me, some characters are just ridiculous (Clover, Alice and Dio) and the puzzles don't seem that inspired to me. I'll give it a few more hours to see if it picks up.

LetÂ’s Fish! Hooked On is absolutely terrible and I hate myself for buying it. What do you hate yourself for buying?
Buying this game myself was bad and I feel bad. I thought I'd get some lols out of the paper thin concept but the game doesn't deliver on any level. It's just terrible.

Buying a Nintendo DS and PSP at launch, because they didn't have any compelling software at launch and didn't for quite a while. Sold them and didn't buy them again for quite awhile.

Handhelds with the exception of the GB Micro.

Everything else I never play but for some reason the Micro was just right.

Mass Effect 3 Collectors Edition, gotta love that Mechdog :/. Learned my lesson on not buying collector editions that's for sure...
until Dark Souls 2 comes out
