Buying a game in physical shop: when did you do it last time?

The last time was 2010 I think. I went to buy "Buzz!" the trivia game for PS3 at Gamestop on a whim. I had a terrible experience and it's the last time I've purchase a game at a physical store. If I am going to do it now, I'm going to Best Buy or Target or something, not an actual game store. But, since then, I've either bought exclusively digital or on Amazon.

I think when I got A Link Between Worlds and Bravely Default from Best Buy's B1G1 free sale was the last time I bought a game in a store.

Got Destiny in a Best Buy a week ago. Love making conversation with employees, makes there be a human aspect with the whole gaming thing. Plus, I don't have to rely on the post to get my game; it's all in my own hands.

January this year, I bought Starcraft WoL and HoS because it was on a nice discount. I don't usually buy games in shop because they are often crazy expensive in my country, I import everything.

For myself? Around January,Tomb Raider Definitive Edition (with the book/case). Back then I also decided to go fully digital with the PS4, so I gave the game to a friend.

To that same friend I've gifted a few other retail games like FFXIV and UMvC3 for the Vita when it was delisted on PSN.

I went to preorder Mortal Kombat X to get the poster, though I'll get the digital version too.

I buy most games from a physical shop.
We have a great community here, where you can sit down and play some Street Fighter 2, get Streetpasses and talk about games.
Last games I bought there were Catherine, Beach Spikers and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, bought them two weeks ago.

The Last Of Us (Ps4) , I vowed to start downloading my games on Ps4 from now on. Last game I bought was Diablo3 off the Ps store and I just love how easy it is to boot up a game and to never have to worry about misplacing my games (Which happens frequently)

Gamestop on Black Friday last year, to pick up Metroid Prime Trilogy and Xenoblade Chronicles on sale. It's not cause I don't use game stores anymore, but because I haven't actually bought any games this year. ORAS will be the first game I buy all year.

A couple of weeks ago when I picked up Diablo 3 for the PS4. I ended up not having enough money to pick up the retail version of Destiny that I put $5 down on awhile ago, but now I'm thinking that I might not even go back and buy it at all.

I will still purchase most of my console and handheld games physically if I can. I buy Steam stuff only when its really, really cheap. Same goes for things like buying Spelunky on PSN for $3.00.

Couple of months maybe? When I picked up a Wii U, I got an NA copy of Xenoblade. I usually get my games from Amazon. They don't gut copies and put hard to remove stickers all over the box.

I bought Pokemon Typing for DS cause it was on sale for £8, but before that, about 7 years ago or maybe more, when I bought some GBA games as a gift.

Mario Kart 8 back in July I think. It was actually the cheapest I could find (checked every online store), and I had to get it on time to get the free game code with it. Most other games I've bought in the past years have been online (though there was Nintendo Land last year that I found very cheap so I bought it in a store).

The year was 2012. I was young and stupid, my only console the PS3. After a friend of mine showed me heaven, PC gaming, I built my first PC and haven't set foot in a game shop since.

Overall: last week. two used ds games at a nearby store.

New release: Mario Kart8 in June

I only buy digital when really good deals allhappen.nearly all my gaming these days happens on Nintendo systems, so there is no PS plus style constant stream of dirt cheap downloads to occupy me.

Probably 2008. I was looking for Fallout 3 and Dead Space on PC and went to a Gamestop. The clerk looked at me like I had 10 eyes or something when I asked if they had Dead Space for PC in stock.

Bought Killer is Dead from Gamestop when it was on clearance.
Got it home and found that the soundtrack was missing from my gutted copy.
Ordered from amazon after price match then returned copy to Gamestop.

bought Ninja Gaiden II for the 360 like 2 weeks ago at Gamestop. saw Wonderbook for 5 bucks, grabbed that as well, the clerk started warning me about what's in there (as in, there's no cam or move) but he said it in such a confusing way, that we kept arguing what's in the box for 3 minutes.

I prefer ordering my games online...

Titanfall, about a month and a half ago. The Destiny beta was the first time in about 10 years that I actually enjoyed playing online MP, and after it ended I wanted to keep the momentum going. I went to Amazon and for whatever reason it was going to take several days if I ordered from there. So I stopped at Toys R Us on the way home. Before that, the last game I bought from brick & mortar was... maybe Red Dead Redemption, like a month after it came out. Same situation, I had no interest in it until after it came out. Otherwise I would have pre-ordered it from Amazon as I usually do. I remember the last game I pre-ordered from Gamestop and had to go there to pick it up on day 1: Dead Space 1. It was right after that that I switched to pre-ordering online. So convenient.

I bought a Japanese copy of Gargoyle's Quest 2 for Gameboy and the Sailor Moon belt-scroll for Super Famicom at a store on Saturday!

3 weeks ago for diablo 3. Going to happen 5 more times for this fall as I have 5 more games to get before next year.

It was when skyrim came out for the xbox360,i went and traded in arkham city for it..so that was almost 3 years ago i think.

Last was TLoU Remastered, about half my console games are bought locally, usually only go to retail though when trading up, way better value online when it comes to console retail games otherwise.
