buying a ps4 JUST for bloodborne ??

you mean the price could drop further ? because i dont really want a stronger ps4... just wanna play bloodborne really lol

theres also the possibility that sony might lock another from software souls variation down ...

Yep. Also the chance they might announce something you want to play besides BB? I'm pretty much sure they will make a BB2 after the first one sold so well, anyway. But if you only want to play BB, isn't there any friend with a PS4 that you could borrow a PS4 from for a couple of weeks?

Honestly I wouldn't do it for one game. But the chances are you'll buy others for it,so I guess that will justify it.Also depends on financial needs...can you afford it,if so go ahead

You may as well wait and play it once the PS4k is a thing. I imagine that you'll be able to get a much better deal by then if it's really only BB you are interested in.

My PS4 only really plays Bloodborne, Resogun, TLoU, Uncharted. Other dope exclusives made it to PC (Xrd, Leynos). I'd say it's worth it but it only takes one great game for me.

It's the best souls game I've ever played yet it isn't worth it IMO. However, if you decided to buy it I think you would find many interesting games that will make your purchase worthwhile.

I would wait. It'll be cheaper and maybe down the line you develop some better taste in games
jk

Seriously though, something else on that console that interests you is bound to pop up.

No interest in Nioh, OP? My guess is From Software will probably make another Sony exclusive game at some point this gen again. May be worth it then, hopefully cheaper by then for you.

eh, I think if you wanted to play BB badly enough, it wouldn't be a question. When the time is right, you'll know it

Follow your heart, tc

If I didn't have a PS4 yet, I would have bought one for Uncharted 4. Yes, it would be worth it for me for the grand experience and the 100s hours of I'll play between replaying single player and playing MP.

Those who think it's stupid to buy a console for one game are actually the ones being stupid. Obviously, the one exception is someone buying a game they know absolutely nothing about, but just assume that they will enjoy it from the impressions of other people.

If a person is buying a console for series they enjoy and offers hundreds of hours of playtime, how the fuck is it stupid to buy a console just for one game? What difference does make if they are buying it for one game or splitting it between many other games? What if it's just more fun to a person to continue playing that one game? There was a thread last year on GAF where people shared their highest play times and there were people who have put 200+ hours into Demon Souls and other RPGs. Also, isn't there other features from that the console that could be useful to a person like the spotify/netflix app, blu ray capabilities, or being able to follow streams?

I bought a Wii just to play Smash Bros and it definitely worth it! It wasn't the only game I played, but it was the one game that pushed me over to buy it because I love the gameplay, it's probably a top 5 local multiplayer game still, and it's I've been a fan of the series.

I (gaming mostly on PC) bought the PS4 for Bloodborne, Destiny (plus some day Persona 5) and to have a BlueRay player in the bedroom.

I bought a PS4 for Bloodborne, Destiny, and a few other exclusives I knew were coming (FFXV for example). The Blu Ray player was icing on the cake.

Bloodborne is fantastic, and if you have to just buy a PS4 and Bloodborne and after you beat it sell it. You can make most of your money back and you could consider the loss a rental fee.

If you look hard enough I'm sure you can find other games that might interest you. Odin Sphere, Final Fantasy XV, Salt and Sanctuary (at least for now), Star Ocean 5, etc.

I purchased a PS3 just for Demons' Souls. You should do it. Surely other games might find your fancy eventually. I know I eventually acquired a lot of ps3 games after Demons'

I got a refurbished Ps4 because I only wanted a few games and a blu ray player. Played the living hell out of Bloodborne, Last of Us, and Drive Club.

would you consider doing this ? ive got a pretty good deal (290€ 500gb unused + bloodborne) but i have absolutely 0 interest in any ps exclusive out there at this moment

now that might change but right now id buy it just for 1 single game.... already own a capable pc + an xbone with tons of games

honestly, I've bought systems for that "one game" and ended up getting interested in other awesome stuff down the line...and if you have the spare cash and it won't affect your overall budget much, go for it if you really want it.

I know I'll be buying a PS4 later this year and there's only like 3 or 4 games I'd want for it now - but that might change and it's easy enough to sell if you change your mind...

Personally, I would wait at least two more months and see what happens at E3 2016. No point in spending money now when you could see a price cut for the fall or if the upgraded console comes out for a little more money. Plus, you would be getting a new console as opposed to used.

Another option you have is to buy PS4, play and finish Bloodborne and then sell it all to get back as much money as possible.

I bought Sega CDX for one game - Final Fight CD. I bought PS4 for Watch Dogs and Mercenary Kings at the time but I knew that there would be plenty of games for PS4 that I wanted to play. 2 1/2 years into the console's life cycle, I have completed 26 games.

It simply comes down to what you prefer to do, if one game is worth the cost and what you plan to do with the PS4 after Bloodborne.

I can't say for sure how much your money means to you but if there was 1 game I would buy a system for it would most likely be Bloodborne. I mean, 200 hours later might say I'm quite biased.

As someone who picked up a PS4 for Bloodborne- might as well wait for the PS4K.

The game itself is totally legit by the way.

It is worth it. I did it and it is the only game I bought, excluding psn+ freebies, since i got the ps4 back in march 2015.
No regrets.

Already did it, no regrets. Best game of all-time.
It might look like there's nothing that interests you right now but once you actually have the console that could change, and wasn't there rumours of more FromSoft exclusives coming?
If you have time now I wouldn't wait for PS4K, didn't the rumours say that it's coming early 2017 so that's a long time to wait.

No, don't do it. Absolute folly. Find another way to play or watch playthroughs on Youtube.

Hahahahaha this is the franchise that that remark least applies to.

I didn't buy my PS4 solely for Bloodborne, but I wouldn't have been upset if that's all I had. It's one of my favorite games.

If you think you can afford to put your money there I'm not gonna tell you not to. It's a bit ridiculous, but it's your money.

I don't think it's worth it for one game, but I bought one for all exclusives and that definitely was worth it.

i was (and still am) in the exact same situation, but i decided not to. i cannot in good conscience spend 300€ on one game, albeit a game that - as a souls fan - would be absolutely right up my alley. the only other game i might be interested in is horizon zero dawn, but at this moment literally nothing except for bloodborne.

I bought it for BB and it was worth it. easily the second best souls game after DS1 for me.

playing DS3 made me even appreciate the purchase even more because how inferior it is to BB PvE wise.

also Uncharted 4, TLG, Horizon, Persona5 and NieR are promising

and R&C so far is my favorite platformer this gen

I'd never buy a console for only one game just for economical reasons, but if you have some money to spend and you can afford it, do it, definitely. Precisely I bought a PS4 recently and Bloodborne is the one and only game completely covering my gaming sessions nowadays, one of my top 5 games ever

I'd also advice you to take a deeper look into the current and future PS4 line-up though, as I'm sure you'll find more than one reason to buy the console and feel your money is well invested (Uncharted 4, Driveclub, R&C, Until Dawn)

Buy a used PS4 for Bloodborne. Play Bloodborne. Sell the PS4 for the same or slightly less. In the end, you played Bloodborne for like $60-80.

i can afford it yea, but lets put it this way. if i buy this now on my poor student salary i wont have cash for any form of entertainment for at least 1 month lol

putting it this way it does sound ridiculous

I did this for Bloodborne. It probably wasn't worth it.

I did play other games like FFXV Episode Duscae (I really enjoyed my time with this demo, surprisingly), grabbed PT while it was still up, and enjoyed a bunch of red box rentals like COD:AW and SFV. I don't regret my purchase.

If you have absolutely zero interest in Sony's games or console exclusives in general, then wait for a bargain bin deal or PS4k.

You'll be playing Bloodborne that 1 month so I don't think you need to worry about having entertainment.

That's silly. Bloodborne is just a slightly easier, less fun to find loot version of Dark souls.
Its the same game dude.

BUt yeah you should get a ps4. But not for one game. For VR. Cuz VR gona be good.

Or wait for ps4k.

I bought mine just for it, worth every cent. It's a bit of an odd timing right now, as you could play Dark Souls 3 instead, then buy a cheap secondhand PS4 when the PS4K hits (or straight away buy a PS4K if that's your thing).
