It's true that I haven't played Guild Wars myself, but my brother and friends did. The problem with maxing out so fast is when I heard that a friend maxed out 4 different chars in one week, it turned me off. I do want a sense of growth (I was playing Diablo II:LoD at the time when GW was released) when I play an mmorpg. I don't mind grinding, as long as that process is fun: and that's what Cabal is doing right. The battles are fun and get more and more fun when better (and more over the top) skills are being unlocked.Ceres said:You've obviously never played Guild Wars then. Monks for the longest time were not only the most sought after profession because they could heal, they could easily solo the hardest areas in the game because of one of their skill lines that did high damage versus undead creatures. Arenanet had to constantly downgrade skills because they were simply too unbalanced and they didn't want any races being able to solo the most difficult areas in the game. Any single profession can be played with the basic spamming of skills. However, they are also the crappiest of players. I had one character slot for every profession by the time I stopped playing and it never forced me to spend 500 hours grinding each one to obtain what I needed with each character. I could max my level out in a single day and then have fun playing in the end game areas all I wanted. Unfortunately, due to the insane people that demand grind, the chapters started getting more and more grind dependent. Which is a main reason I started loosing interest halfway through the 2nd chapter.
Although I liked how the capes looked in Guild Wars... they're so smooth... but the skills just look like any other game. Little balls and all those cast animations. I want blades to slice and dice, magic to furiously explode
