Seriously though, why not? You may not think that it affects your daily life, but it probably does. That debate undermines the future of education in America. Kids aren't being taught science because it goes against someone's religious beliefs. Not only does this debate affect this subject, but it affects others as well. Because this topic seems debatable enough not to include evolution in schools, some towns are teaching something, in my opinion, to be rather dangerous. You're teaching kids not to rationalize their thoughts.
How does that affect you? Not progressing as much as we should in science. There are a whole slew of issues that are created from this that affect you.
There's almost certainly significant overlap between most of those groups.DevelopmentArrested said:Anti-evolutionists are worse than truthers, birthers and flat-earthers. They are the lowest of the fucking low.

^That doesn't prove anything at all dude. There's no coincidence that they call every religion a faith. This debate isn't about proving any side right or wrong though. It's about what EVIDENCE is available and just going off of that. How religious attention-whores are making a frivolous lawsuit and shitting on the idea of using logic and scientific evidence.Game Analyst said:To me, Jesus proves God exists.

Jesus explains why people reject Him (God in human flesh):
"Gods light (Jesus) came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
John the Baptist talking about where Jesus came from:
"For he is sent by God. He speaks Gods words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. And anyone who believes in Gods Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesnt obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under Gods angry judgment.
What kind of logic is that?Game Analyst said:To me, Jesus proves God exists.

Maybe you just stick to "analyzing games." What "discoverys" are these you speak of?Game Analyst said:I never said the Bible is or ever claimed to be a science book. So what? The Mayans predicted the entire course of human history up until 2012, which is far more impressive yet no one is going to talk about human sacrifice in science class.Game Analyst said:I never said the Bible is or ever claimed to be a science book. Maybe they did incorporate knowledge they had at the time into the Bible, that doesn't make anything written in the book any more meaningful or true. The Bible might have been a good guideline for how things worked 2000 years ago but through science we now know that a lot of what they thought to be true back then simply wasn't.Game Analyst said:I never said the Bible is or ever claimed to be a science book. This post implies a dichotomy I don't agree with. You can believe in the Bible without being a mouth-breathing fundamentalist, it just takes elementary skill in literary interpretation and the recognition that Jesus was fond of parables.Wormdundee said:Haha, I remember you from another thread quite a while ago. I thought you would've learned your lesson from that time. Neogaf is probably the worst place to try and prove Christianity right. I would guess that at least 75% of people here are atheists/agnostic and know that evolution is fact. Just give it up, any argument you put forth is going to be torn to pieces.
Also, arguing from the Bible is completely worthless since anybody who believes the Bible is true would already be a Christian wouldn't they?

Actually ... now that I"m thinking about it, I think it's a different movie I watched, but probably along the same lines.
Ben Stien was in it.

Pretty sure he means the Romans. He couldn't possibly be saying that a man, who may or may not have existed, is responsible for society as it is today. I mean, that would be stupid. Right?quadriplegicjon said:What? There isn't even definitive proof that the man even existed.
