Oh man, you missed out on a HELL of a Steam deal last week on the Freedom Force pack. I think it was both games for something absurd like $2. Just a complete steal.

A Lost game (not 'The Lost', but any excuse will do) made by a top tier studio would be the best thing ever. And since none of the cast have (good) jobs now, they could capture their faces with this L.A. Noire tech that apparantly exists.

The only real obstacle I can see with it is balancing FPS multiplayer between people on gamepads and people on kb/m. Having separate sets of servers, maybe, or indicating via some icon who's playing with what.

How did UT3 on PS3 deal with that sort of thing? It has kb/m support, I believe.

This. It has been confirmed that it is a shooter. But I would suspect more of a RPG element to it. After flirting with the concept in Bioshock, a more robust rpg mechanic could allow for a wider set of combat encounter permutations - a concept that the studio and Shawn are quite fond of.
