Call of Duty 4 for PS3

No, no. The main lag problem in the Beta was that you could (for example) get matched up with someone who really shouldn't be a host for you (latency between you is too high, or etc). There was some tech to combat that, and it's been enhanced like crazy for the shipping version.

"With your friends" is different (I assume you mean custom games, since it's not matchmaking). It's all up to you guys. If your friend is on a satellite connection in the Himalayas and not the best host, well, that's your decision. =)

I'll be getting the X360 for one reason alone: I don't like playing FPS games with a DS controller. Period.

Also most of my friends are on X360 and I actually have my X360 hooked up to the net unlike the PS3 (built-in wifi blows on the machine and I won't lead a cable up 3 floors).

thats an excuse for not picking up cod4? I don't know, cod4 multiplayer is top tier. if killzone can top that (which i doubt) I still wouldn't pass it up.

Isnt KZ2 out like 4 months after COD4? So why would anyone wait for 4 months even if they thought KZ was better?

COD4 looks freaking amazin, and I will be getting it, but I still wish devs would invest in some dedicated servers, like some other companies do.
 
I dunno, I'm not putting much faith in KZ2 yet... I'm sure it'll be much better than the first, no doubt... And if it's better than CoD4 online, then I'm all about it... Because CoD4 freakin' rocked in the beta... I never liked the old CoD's too much, so I had kinda low expectations, but after playing the beta, it owns... That's why I was wishing for dedicated servers, to get the most out of it since it deserves it... There's a lot of depth to this game, when you guys that didn't get in the beta get to play it, you'll see... It's a freakin' blast! If it would run as good as Resistance, it'd hands down be the new measuring stick for online shooters this gen bar none...

Hearing the code was worked on by the IW dev here really puts a smile on my face though!

KZ will get delayed. I really can't see it coming out 4 months from now.

I think the February date is just placeholder, I remember reading that it will be around mid-year before KZ2 will be released which does stand to reason. I'm expecting around June/July depending on when GTAIV releases.

I'm sure Sony want to avoid clashing with GTAIV which I also can't see releasing in April anyway.

I dont doubt infinity wards skill as i think there one of the best devs out there

but so is insomniac ;)

That said, I switched my pre-order from the 360 version to the PS3 version based on some of the posts in this thread. I need some game balance among my hardware!

It was great the first time, not there after. Gameplay was too fast and unrealistic, and for the most part linear in every way.
 
I haven't turned on my PS3 since the 2nd week of Warhawk....I can't even imagine playing an FPS on SIXASIS at this point...but if the PS3 version is superior in any way I will probably get it. I should atleast own ONE damn game for a $600 system..

I know exactly how you feel. I'm looking forward to Uncharted though. And maybe Ratchet. Hopefully they'll make me feel better about my Blu-Ray player.

Eh, honestly if you can't imagine a FPS on the sixaxis you'd be crazy to get it for PS3. I myself prefer the sixaxis for pretty much everything, and my biggest COD fan friends are all on PS3 so the decision is easy (especially since my refurbed 360 is due back tomorrow lol). It sure sounds like both versions will be nearly identical in all meaningful ways, I say go with the controller you prefer and whatever one has more ppl you'd like to play with online.

I really, really hope the Resistence clan moves en masse to COD4. :D Come on guys, you glorious bastards made R:FoM insanely fun for *months* after release, and I'm going to need some kickass clanmates to make sure I win 70% of my team based matches no matter how much I suck ;)
