Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Trailer

Kinda reminds me of Halo, to be honest. Not sure I'm digging all that rectangular scopes and whatnot. Then again, Call of Duty tends to stretch authenticity a bit even before, no?

They added suppression, a bunch of "futuristic" weapons and gadgets. Not sure how I feel about that. While the modern setting for warfare has been kinda played out, this trailer leaves me a bit high-and-dry for some reason.

Also, can anyone confirm if MW3 ever beat Black Ops' sales? I know it beat it on pre-orders or first week sales, but Activision has been kinda quiet on the overall sales of the game...which is kinda surprising. Only reason to do that is because it failed to beat Black Ops' overall sales records and they don't want people to think "CoD has peaked" or something.
 
Meh looks fun.. but thats what trailers are supposed to do, make it look fun. Ill save my $60 on this one. Maybe get it later for zombies.

I hate that this and Halo always comes out around the same time. Love multiplayer for both but its way too hard to juggle these days.
 
Looks like you don't get point streak points from taking out point streaks. Will have to see objective mode gameplay to see if they even are still point streaks or just kill streaks again.

The player in the knife segment (MostlyUseMeBlade, lol) doesn't get points for his kills. Wonder if that's a Barebones clip or kill streaks are primary weapon only or this is just a weird prerelease thing.
 
The Call of Duty formula is dead to me now, I think. I watched the trailer and all I could think of was, "Huh, okay." Nothing interested me, nothing excited me, didn't even raise an eyebrow.

I don't think anyone hates on Call of Duty because it's popular.

I've played every COD except COD3 (including COD1 and COD2 when they were first released on PC), and this trailer did absolutely nothing to excite me. Are you seriously telling me my opinion is wrong?

The first gun is called M8A1 Select Fire and has an attachment that looks like a select fire knob that's activated by hitting left on the d-pad. It also says Burst, Semi Auto, or Auto next to gun name above the ammo counter.

The only things that don't seem self-explanatory are the three slots at the bottom of the load-out display.
 
Game looks okay, maybe even good but admittedly that's in a little window on my laptop at 30fps. No way of really telling before I see it on a TV screen.

Content looked interesting for fans of the series but I don't care really; could never get into CoD beyond a few matches every now and then and since they're all active just one is good enough for me (Black Ops, and if anything's replacing it it would be this, in Treyarch we trust). I will say that it all looks a lot more attractive of a package overall, the time jump allows them to do some interesting things and I hope they live up to the potential there since I'm gonna be playing it whether it $60-interests me or not. My friends are gonna go nuts for this.

Why would someone disliking CoD make you that mad?

Especially since there's millions of other people that counteract the people who are tired of the same CoD formula, not CoD itself.

And are you blind not to see similarities?

I'm SPECIFICALLY talking about people who says it looks like more of the same. Graphically, yeah, sure okay, I'll give you that.

Gameplay? Nope. Not really. The only thing the games have in common is A)The Engine, B)The Fact they are 60 FPS, C)Perks (And even that is rumored to not even being the same as original series).

Anything else you say is the "same" applies to literally every sequel ever, so it's pretty much irrelevant.
 
Wow, first time I'm actually excited about a COD game. This looks fun. Might pick it up later in a sale or something, hopefully for Wii U.
 
Looked good.

Black Ops is the only CoD I have enjoyed so I'll definitely be getting this. Hopefully the PS3 version is improved though as I no longer play Xbox.

I think a lot of people do or are at least influenced to dislike it unconsciously because of how popular its become to hate on it. Its not cool to say you like Call of Duty. Its basically just immediately met with some 'CoD is for kids/noobs'-like attitude. I've even seen people on here saying they've deleted friends from the friends list PURELY because they saw them playing Call of Duty and didn't want to associate with those sorts.

Anyways, BO2 is looking pretty good. I was pretty much converted to BF3 last year so I skipped on MW3, but depending on how I'm feeling with BF3 later this year and how far off BF4 is, I might actually think about jumping back on the CoD wagon for this. We'll see.

Like I said, there will always be new guns and perks and levels in a new COD. There may even be new modes. But the core gameplay, the way COD plays, the way the guns feel and handle, the way you traverse the levels, that has remained the same since COD4.

The feel of the game hasn't changed, and that's why I won't be getting this version.

Not day one, but I am not going to write it off just yet.

I would really like to see some SOP type shit from MGO. Use the tech for teamwork. Doubt it will happen though.

Ha... No. There are inherent properties on the way the game plays and feels that come with the engine being used. A different reload animation on a different weapon skin does not change the game when that weapon has identical rate of fire, damage, and audio properties as plenty of other weapons in the series. No matter what you're seeing, it's still at the very base of the programming the same game.
