Call of Duty: Black Ops III Beta Thread [PC/Xbone now up!]

anyone having any problems downloading it? mine still says 18 hours remaining and it's been downloading for hours now. psn isn't known to be fast but this is ridiculous.
Pause and resume download, this works. It should put those hour down, or into minutes, you should also see an increase in the download. Might have to do it a couple of times, and keep track of it, if it goes back to normal, pause and resume again

I'm so glad that handguns are a viable weapon choice again. They were so useless in AW.
Played a whole match using only the first handgun and it was really fun.
Does anyone know if the second one has burst fire? It was one of my main weapons in BLOPS2.

TTK is also observed to be no change. ARs pretty much slay you before you even know where you're getting shot from.

Yep, and no toughness to fix that, usually makes whoever lands a shot first to win. I think in a game with no toughness there should be less flinch

Or just none at all as all it does is help in letting the first person to shoot win or the one getting shot at to get the off chance of netting a headshot on someone who definitely had the drop on you.

It should all be visible thing if it was up to me.

How do I access my codes on the call of duty page? I already redeemed and gave me my code and 2 others to share. Shared one, but since I went to sleep I turned it off and whenever I try to access the black ops beta webpage I cant seem to find the beta codes.

Holy shit the TTK is so low. It feels like I'm playing MW2 hardcore. Combine that with the super strong auto-aim and I'm too old for this shit. I understand reaction times are important in games like these, but damn, at least let us have firefights that lasts longer than .2 of a second.

Yeah, now that I've got the game down, I'm loving it. There's such a nice flow to the combat.

A good chunk of my engagements have gone like
wallrun > jump glide to the side > pick off an enemy from the air > land > slide > kill > melee someone > slide to the left and shoot them to finish them off > flip around and slam spikes into the ground and get a kill or two.

It's almost like a dance you have to learn but once you've got it down, it flows super well.

It feels more like BLOPS1 than 2, I loved both but it's impossible to me to play it with a controller. I'm more hyped for the PC version now, can't wait to try it out next week on PC.

Confusing at first... The Outrider is an awesome Specialist to pick. Both the Bow and the Recon thing are cool skills to have.

I'm actually surprised. It's the first CoD I've enjoyed playing since Blops 1.

The maps are pretty clever too. The one with the waterfall has some sneaky underwater parts where you can come out and surprise people.

Overall I actually really like it. Didn't think I'd say that about a Call of Duty since the last few have been turds in my eyes.

First impression was that there's too much shit to unlock and equip from the get go. like what is half this stuff?
The game is quite fun but some weapons seems really weak

That's how I feel about BF4. Too many unlocks, I just left everything default half the time. I felt overwhelmed

so no more knife kills huh, that sucks.

also it sucks i fell asleep yesterday, game was done by 9pm but i was so tired. almost call in sick for work lol , cant wait when i get home

Don't worry, I'm getting the same problem through AT&T. Honestly don't even know what to do after multiple attempts with DMZ.

Sadly, it seems so. You can get away with some quickscoping from the deaths I've seen.

Eh I mean, CoD meta is hardly to be taken seriously anyway, as long as it doesn't get frustrating (which I never found quickscoping - AW with the spawns and the mobility got on my nerves) I'm fine.

I didn't get a chance to look but can you put iron sights on snipers? That's probably the only way I would enjoy using a sniper class. World at War spoiled me, lol.

Engineer will be one of my top perks for sure. I'm one of those people that enjoys taking down shit. Which also means I'll be equipping the launcher that has 4 shots (which I already unlocked).

Looking forward to being home already and playing some more. If anyone wants to form a group, just say the word and we'll get some games in tonight.

I gotta say, I was worried I would have trouble playing COD on a PS controller (since I've always been xbox) but I got accustomed pretty quickly. I do have a Titan One being shipped to me later today so I'll be able to use my X1 controller. I'll give impressions later tonight.

So what's the general consensus on the best guns? I've seen quite a lot of posts talking about balancing issues with different types of guns.

In case you think you haven't gotten your code yet: check your Spam. Gmail's spam filter on my personal account put it in Spam. Apparently it came late last night; I could've downloaded it while I slept! This really is excruciatingly slow.

I just don't like sniper rifles operating like shotguns in some respect, but its low priority of what is wrong with CoD relatively so its whatever. There are bigger fish to fry, but whatever.
