Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta Thread | PS4 Weekend

Man, the reception of this game. Hasn't been good at all.

I wonder what's gonna happen to Infinity Ward if sells look shaky, and the community falls back to Black Ops 3?

MWR can only help you so much.

It's time to do something else. Hopefully Raven doesn't get merged to Infinity Ward for yet another company to help them out. Sledgehammer and Neversoft already tried and it didn't do much.

Raven needs to do their own COD game.

I think I'll throw in the towel here. I was slowly beginning to get frustrated (games very rarely frustrate me), so best stop now and move on. The game is just pure chaos every game I've been in, headless chickens.

IW keeps this franchise- Future
Sledgehammer-Past
Treyarch-Present (BO2 time frame the latest)

They killed off future warfare by making all 3 studios make future games back to back like this. Like, When it was IW and 3arc the change off from modern and past was healthy because you got a different feel between the 2.

Whoever thought out this whole 1 era only ruined it for the company. Oversatuarted a time era in 3 years. Genius brehs.

well about all I can say is Ill be playing on the remastered multiplayer and not this. Sorry this isn't interesting to me at all. Beyond that I'm going to be all over BF1. I bought both, I wanted to give IW a chance, but the multiplayer continues to disappoint. The Campaign still looks fun though, at least.

played 5 mins of this and what the hell? Im totally not feeling this. What fun is it to play with mechs? Finally gonna stop buying CoD's since CoD 2.

The thing that has me concerned a little for the future of the franchise in the short term is that the next game could very likely be Advanced Warfare 2, simply because 2 years ago it was rather well received and they probably felt continuing that franchise was a good idea. However with Activision not managing that variety in the settings with their studios and gamers getting rather burnt out on its current direction, you have to wonder if this scenario was spotted prior to Black Ops 3 and whether Sledgehammer chose another direction.

I'd give Raven the keys to their own timeline and go with 4 devs, but like you said, keep timelines in separate eras...

- Treyarch lost the plot after Blops2...they need a fresh universe for their next game...

- I didn't like AW's multiplayer, as much..but thought the campaign was quite good...I don't mind the idea of Sledgehammer staying in the future...

- Let Raven continue with a modern/present universe...unless you want to let them remaster MW2/3 and complete the trilogy?

- IW?..ugh, idk...

Pretty terrible imo.

The movement isn't fluid at all. Everything feels clanky and just didn't control well.

Wall running still seems barely implemented. It doesn't work well at all and is still clanky like it was last year.

Specialists were dumb in blops3 and they're even worse here.

Wasn't a huge fan of the maps. Didn't think they flowed well. Felt like I was getting killed from behind constantly. More than any other COD.

As bad as Ghosts is compared to the modern cod's that came before it, I prefer it more than AW and blops3. Think this move into the future hasn't been good, and it hasn't altered the gameplay in a positive way.

I'll probably Redbox it for the campaign as I've played every COD and always enjoy it... but that'll be it. Totally "meh" on the multiplayer. It's in a strange spot of double jumps and wall running but now being too slow? And like everyone else is saying... so many robots.

After playing titanfall 2 with how fluid it was with no lag and incredible hit detection, this game feels like a joke. Played to rank 11 too. The maps don't feel good for the movement system at all.

After playing some more today I've done a 180 on this game. I'm really enjoying it now. That space map, whatever it's called is much better than I initially thought too.

I played a few rounds without utilising the mobility system and actually found it to better the experience as a whole.. it kind of makes me wish they had forgone it completely and kept it boots on the ground.

After trying a few times and giving up I gave this beta another shot tonight and finally got a match.
What a load of crap! imo it feels sluggish, has bad map design, colour pallet to bright and graphics to blurry.

It's a step back from both AW & Black ops 3. Still the best movement in a shooter is Titanfall.
Won't be buying this one until it's super cheap on Steam for the campaign.

Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Beta. PS4 - North America. I guess it's something free to get into right now.

I got codes:

RB9E-JGNP-3HHE
C636-L8ND-4F44
R3KF-BBNE-6MKG
6QH2-J2N5-5C7N
EKG3-QQNP-CT23
T7A8-B9NG-4K6B

please indicate which one you've claimed so people know not to mess with it anymore.

Its pretty much Infinity Ward in name only.

MW3 was shit, Ghosts was shit and the new one is shit. MW2, the last by OG IW, wasn't my cup of tea either, but its a masterpiece compared to these.

.

I was not a huge fan of MW3 at the time but looking back that game is amazing compared to Ghosts and IW. IW just cannot make good COD games anymore and I cannot believe this is what that came up allegedly working on this game for 3 years.

Playing this beta just makes me want to play Titanfall 2 even more. Thank God I always play the campaign of COD games otherwise this would've been $60 down the drain.

I hope that finally we see a CoD game that is recieved poorly both critically and commercially.

This game is at the level of a B-tier online shooter from the 360 generation. It's lazy, and it expects its players to be lazy. Just run around until you shoot someone in the back, if you get shot in the back, oh well.

I'm glad to hear it's getting negative impressions or outright ignored in the press. I hope people cancel their preorders and don't buy this crap.

The remastered MW1 campaign and multiplayer will probably be a lot better, but wait for it to be released on its own.

Although I'm not super impressed by this game I feel like I may be coming around. I think the choice of weapon is very map dependent - using an SMG on that space map is key, and I think an AR on all the others unless you like running around inside. I also think kill confirmed is way more fun than TDM this time around for some reason. Maybe because of the fast paced nature? Not sure. But I'll give it a chance once it's out for real and the matchmaking/game finding baloney is cleaned up.

These impressions about the enhanced movement system being almost so utterly useless and just an afterthought brings me such joy!

What fun is it to play with mechs?
Huh? No mechs in the IW beta, unless you're talking about the one robotic Combat Rig you can choose from (Synaptic), but it's just as human-sized as the others. BTW didn't think I'd be saying this but Synaptic is definitely my favorite so far. Equalizer absolutely melts people and probably lasts longer than it should. Grinding hard to unlock FTL and try the Eraser.

Anyone else liking Precinct the most of the four maps so far? Feels the most spread out and least "3-lane" compared to the others. Shame I've only been been able to play it twice.

Well, I've finally gotten around to playing some and I have got to say, a lot of the negative feed back is warranted.

I don't know what it is about all the guns but they just feel heavy to me. It feels clunky and almost like I'm not playing Call of Duty (which I guess could be interrupted as a good thing to some people?).

The art design and character multiplayer has is just really uninspired and pretty disappointing. It's like everything just lakes it's own unique touch. Everything feels and looks somewhat the same to me.

I'm gonna mess around with it some more, but so far I haven't really enjoyed much of it. Like, even the controls when you call in an air strike are clunky.

Played COD since 2003 ... Been to midnight launches in the past, got days and days of play in the COD4 to BO1 heyday.

Just played my first 30 mins of IW ...

Jeez it's worse than I could have imagined !

Feels 'janky' for a COD game, poor bobbing movement, poor audio and graphics, gunplay feels terrible and doesn't have the usual satisfying COD feel of shooting guns and liking the feel and sound.

I'm honestly in shock how bad it is, I never played 'Ghosts' for more than an hour out of all the COD games it felt and looked terrible and this feels just like it at its core - has that Ghosts stuttery jank that other COD games don't have.

In the past 2 months I've played BO3, BF4, 40hrs of BF1 Beta, 15hrs of TF2 Beta and some BO2 on Wii U and this is so far away from any of them, can't believe it.

Production wise it feels cheap and something of the usual COD formula is missing, crazy thing is it actually feels slower in movement and more boots on the ground than BO3 but everything else is just poor.

I've been a COD addict at times when the series was flying, stood in supermarket queues of 400 people at midnight with my mate and gone home with the next day booked off work and played until dawn ... So I cannot believe I am bored of a new COD and feel I've seen everything I need to see from it after 30 MINUTES !

I was actually thinking to myself during playing it "I think I'm going to go play some more Forza Horizon 3 or watch Match of the Day" ... DURING my first 30 mins with a new COD - Unthinkable in the past.

Sad, sad times.

Oh one last thing ... Can we all finally agree that 'Infinity Ward' as we knew them are ... Dead, like deader than dead.

I only left IW with Infinite because it's basically out already. If it's true that sledgehammer might be making something with vietnam then them being the past developer makes sense. Leaving 3arc as the devs to make something more modern or whatever. The one reason I think sledge might go back in time is because their devs were passing tweets here and there on twitter about old wars and WW2 a year or so back.

Also Raven will probably be just the support and remaster guys. The model doesn't need 4 developers, plus Raven handles the dlc maps for these games so it makes sense to have them on the backburner. Remastering a game is alot easier then making one from scatch and Raven probably ain't in the position to make that leap or probably don't want to.

This is kinda awful :|

IW could have made the most perfect cod ever, and I think 90% of response would have been exactly the same. Treyarch fans would say TTK is too low, old IW fans would complain that they're getting constant hit markers. If the full game has maps that are more suited to the vertical movement and wall running but those mechanics were taken out to make it boots on the ground, hardcore fans would complain. This happens like clockwork every fucking year, it's just worse now that it's made by the studio who made Ghosts so people feel invited to shit on them 50% more than the other devs.

I'm seeing comment after comment that's basically "Played two matches kept dying so i uninstalled and cancelled my preorder"

Nevermind that despite me hating the multiple paths out of every room map design, once I got to learn the maps more (level 13) and to check my back constantly, I'm not dying half as much

I feel like all of the complaints about this game could easily be attributed to every Call of Duty game ever. Nothing about this games reception feels new to me. All of the issues that people have with this game have been the design philosophy of CoD for years now.

The complaints about getting shot in the back and low TTK are especially ridiculous. That stuff has been a thing in this series ever since Call of Duty 4.

I've kinda warmed up to it on a second play session. It's underwhelming, but definitely not terrible like I intially thought. After getting used to the pace and feel of the game I started having a lot more fun than earlier. That space map can fuck right off though. Infinity Ward needs to fire their map designers, they've been consisitently the worst part of their games since MW3.

Yup. Can't think of a CoD that being shot in the back wasn't common.

Honestly the more I play the tighter the game feels.

Also a new update seems to be out.

You're delusional if you don't understand that Ghosts was way worse than any other modern Call of Duty in terms of TTK and map design.

Played 10 games and well, I'm keeping my pre-order.
Weapons have got a nice kick to them and sound like fucking guns unlike the raspberry blowers from BLOPS3 and lo and behold, you aim, you shoot, them die!
No more being killed by those guys from BLOPS3
BLOPS3 KILLCAM
O0ZtSLkdSq2mQ.gif

Everything thing right and accurate, the only bad thing about it is everything they copied from BLOPS3, Rigs seem better as they do have customization that actually change the Rigs appearance completely.
Instead everyone just looking the same, but its hard to tell in the beta but they should go back to AW style.....speaking of which, This free running shit?
Exo's were better and more fun.
I know one now.........Always skip Treyach CODs.

It's really not the same as every year. I would usually agree but the tone of the MP feels empty as if it was made in a vacuum. This is the epitome of a cod adding a bunch of shit over the years but not knowing how to balance it. You have a map philosophy that is 1:1 as Ghost in it's "8 different hallways with no chokepoints, a over complicated Specialist/Hero setup that has more fat then it needs, movement system that doesn't even compliment the flow of the maps and now it's doubling down on it's lootbox weapon builds.

Like it's kinda gross looking on paper. Which is why I said it feels like a committee sat down and just looked at AW and BO3 and said "can we fuse these together and call it a day" instead of fix Ghost and make a better sequel.

I'll give them love for the soundmixing and hit detection tho. Wonder if it was one of the older IW guys that returned a few years ago or just new people that got that down.

These maps are instantly understandable. I was able to download the layout within a match.

It feels like black ops. It may have a bit more character as people unlock skins. It feels like COD. Do what you will with that.

Last one I liked in a while was blops 3
