Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Beta Thread | PS4 Weekend

Is ps+ required?

Beta's typically don't require it...

I have very little faith. It seems like this whole Destiny-lite idea of having weapon variants or rarity based weapons might be the thing they will try to push to keep a dedicated player base around. I'm excited to play during the first few months but just like Black Ops 3 and Advanced Warfare, the multiplayer just becomes very difficult to enjoy without a group of people.

Well I spoke too soon. Supply drops are not only in but they can also drop the prototype weapons.

Meaning I got a feeling scrap is going to be stupid hard to get.

Apparently from Reddit you need 5840 salvage for one gun to get all the way to epic... And you get 5 salvage a match. If the person did their math right, without supply drop extra salvage, you will need 8.5 days of ingame time to get a single gun to max.

Is anyone else having horrendous download speeds for this?

I downloaded the Outlast 2 demo as fast as I would expect, set the beta to download and it's going at 0.5 MB/s instead of 6 MB/s...
Yup. It took me all day to download while the Mafia 3 update took like 12 minutes.

It makes you play the objective, best thing to happen to Call of duty since Black Ops.
I disagree.

Defending now gives you 100, the norm. I can see it now, people camping by B, crouching, just waiting for the next kill.

They should have at least kept capturing at 200. Then the big incentive of capturing remains

That's just my fear. And sure, I'll be honest I'm that guy that gets raps, wraight and motherships, so it hurts me a bit, harder to get.

But hopefully it does encourage to play the objectives, and it doesn't become too campy. I'll try to be positive, and try even harder to get the streaks lol. Domination is my favorite mode, so hopefully it doesn't ruin it

file size?

18.9 gigs but the last few gigs seem to fly, I was at 2 hours download left when I turned my ps4 off and an hour later it was done. I am on a 100 mbs connection so could have just been congestion.

You can launch it now but only MP button is clickable and when you click it, it gives an error and restarts the game. I'm ready!

Crazy weekend - battlefield 1 early access, Infinite Warfare, and a bunch of people doing PSVR.

WHAT. THE. FLYING. FUCK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Yup.

Normal gun > 200 > 540 > 1600 > 3500

I got a feeling it's going to suck.
No no no no this is good this is good. All this greed is gonna drive people to Modern Warfare Remastered.

Until they also release some kind of supply drop system in that game if it becomes popular.

It's only a matter of time tbh

Also guys, remember, these greedy douchenozzles said the salvage rewards is accelerated during the beta, so don't think that because you'll get a shitton of rewards now, it's gonna be like that at launch.

Really wish they would just make this shit live. It's already the 14th just press the damn button and let people play.
Yeah, I threw in the towel and I'm heading to bed. I figured they'd release it early but if they're so intransigent, then I guess I may as well head to bed and wait until the official release time.

Hahaha, I knew it, that's how they drive people to buy salvage.

Why would they ignore their own stated start times? What did I miss? I don't understand what people were expecting.

That's a shame as I was looking forward to IW. I hate how full price games have become pay to win.

Now that really does suck. This system will just favour the people that can play 24/7 and everyone else that plays every now and again gets screwed over. At least the supply drops in BO3 were random so you didn't automatically get the best stuff by making the game a full time job.

Cause I got a feeling it's going to be a SLOOOW progress.

why is this bad?

you don't need to have everything you can get and all of it maxed out after a few weeks.

people play these games for months, if not years.
let them have something to do.
