Part of me almost wants to unlock Phantom as my unlock since you get him so late. But how does that work for RIGs? Would I still need to get to level 54 (55?) to get the cloak?

With Rigs, you unlock one of their three pairs of traits and payloads. So getting cloak would also get you Heightened Senses, but not the other traits or payloads.
 
Those of you who have prestiged, does your reward screen after every match show the classic weapons you unlocked every time? I have to see all 3 of them after every match that would give me another unlocked something or other.

Yeah, it's like that for me too and I assume for everyone. Kind of annoying, hopefully it gets fixed. Surprised it hasn't been already.

Would highly recommend using the token on the MacTav. It's a great SMG, I'd say even top 3.

See I wanted to but now I heard the ACR might be coming back and I almost want to just hold out for that. Mainly since I didn't realize you didn't get a classic token every perstiege.

We'll see, it's datamined info and it's purely speculation on my part, but I hope it happens.
 
So I'm listening on a podcast to an interview with the Director of Communications from IW and he heavily implied they had more plans to make the main villain Salen Kotch have a bigger role in the story campaign, but those ideas were cut in favor of putting more emphasis on Reyes's story and his relationship with the squad.

While it wound up making Kotch feel like a Marvel movie villain, I think that sacrifice was worth it.

kill Connor Mcgregor's character in the first story mission

Was it off screen? If so that was pretty unsatisfying after what he did in the intro...

lol...then again I remember Marshawn Lynch being in BLOP3 campaign and I don't even remember what part of the game he showed up in and what character he played...lol
 
No but if you own BO3 you get the epic variant for free and the gun unlocks for you regardless of level requirement.

It's busted right now. It lets you equip it to a class, but if you aren't the proper level to equip the hailstorm (48 I believe), then you'll just get fists when you try to use it in a game.
 
Put the Thunder on a class and went to town in Hardcore. Decided I'd use it and finally get "No idea what I'm doing", to make up for never attempting it in Ghosts. Here's the class I used:

Hailstorm - Thunder
RDS, Quickdraw, Akimbo, Laser Sight
Tier 1 - Ghost, Dexterity
Tier 3 - Dead Silence

Then I just moved around slowly while tracking enemies. Firing off even a few bursts at a distance was usually enough for me to secure a kill. Had the challenge done in around five games.

At the end of the first major mission
as you go up into space and board a ship. When you breach the bridge and most of the crew get vacuumed he is the captain whose command key you are taking.
 
Double Weapon XP feels so useless this time around. Prestiging weapons offers a really lousy incentive. You're better off just keeping them at max. You don't even get XP for weapon rank-ups anymore.

Yup. Very pointless.

Get your attachments and don't bother prestiging your gun.

At the very least, I would have enjoyed unlocking a kill counter.

Yeah. Not to mention getting weapons to max is not hard at all in this. (Which tbh isn't a bad thing).
 
It really does suck. I wonder if it's something they ever intend to add down the line.

I remember in Ghosts they didn't have the traditional challenges when the game first launched, it had that lame system where you got only a certain number of challenges and that was all. If you wanted a fresh set of challenges, you had to spend a squad point to bring up a new list. Eventually they patched it to get rid of that system and have all challenges unlocked at once and added weapon challenges like it was traditionally. Led to leveling up much faster.

A new playlist (hot fix) update for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has rolled out on PS4 and Xbox One.

This playlist update now allows all players who have received the Hailstorm – Thunder with the Loyalty bonus to now use it in game regardless of their level.

This new playlist update has brought the previously announced bomb site adjustments to Breakout, Scorch, Precinct, Frost, Retaliation, and Throwback. The update also made adjustments to the Uplink star spawns, goals, and rooftop resets on Precinct map.

Some players are also reporting that they received their Prestige Unlock Token back after spending it on the Drone Package. The latest update for Infinite Warfare changed the level unlock for it.

The playlist update also adds the Rack 9 shotgun to Infected.

Watching the stream right now. They said a new mode (called "Tactical") is coming next weekend. It's a "boots on the ground" playlist but not entirely. What they mean is that there will be spots on the map where you can wall run, but boost jumping will be disabled.

There will be more details during the week.

So here are the weapon balance changes in recent update:

Mauler - Mammoth - Recoil increase

R.A.W. - Increased hip spread. Slight recoil increase.

Fists - No longer force a quick swap when in the secondary slot. This allows YY'ing to feel smoother.

DMR-1 - Now a 1 shot kill to the head

EBR-800 - Increased ADS recoil return speed to help with shot recovery

Akimbo - Slight reduction in damage range. Increase in hip spread scale

Kendall 44 - Increased hip spread

Hornet - Increased hip spread

Assault Rifles - Increased base hip spread for all ARs without special hip spread values. This includes the NV4, OSA, Type-2.

OSA - No longer has reduced hip spread relative to other Assault Rifles. Inherits the new values set on Assault Rifles in this patch. Increased recoil to compensate for high fire rate being used at range.

Kbar-32 - Increased hip spread values. These are still lower than the base Assault Rifle hip spread keeping with the weapon's theme. No longer has a reduction in recoil off the first shot. Reduced 5 shot kill range.

Volk- Slight reduction in recoil. Increased 3 shot range.

R3K- Increased 3 shot kill range to help this weapon compete with other ARs

I like how the Volk gets nerfed and then slightly un-nerfed, heh.

Nice to see the R3K get a buff to the range, but the fire rate still needs a look.

Liking the buffs on those snipers so far.
 
The fuck is with all the hip-spread increases? That was one of the Kendall's few strengths over the EMC. And the NV4 going untouched aside from the generalized AR hip-spread nerf is a sin.

I like the sniper changes, but the whole class still needs a buff at the baseline. And how long are they going to ignore the fact that the DCM-8 is just a gimped version of the Reaver?
 
That nerf to the KBAR's 5sk range seems unnecessarily harsh, it should get a recoil reduction or something to compensate for its randomness.
