Call of Duty MW3 Hardened Edition revealed

I'm not buying any special edition or anything, $60 is enough thank you. But I'm not ashamed to say, I am really excited for this game. Call me a dudebro or yell at me about how BF3 will be so much better - I don't care. I wish I had this game now. And I don't plan on touching the single player (not anytime soon, anyway).

Sitting here thinking about how many good games are coming out in October/November. I wish some publisher would have stepped up and put one out this week. I'm really bored. No one can afford to buy all the games they want in November, me included, but I'd jump out of my seat and run to the store right now if even ONE of these games came out this week.

Sure we had Deus Ex, but otherwise, what have we got right now? Someone should have recognized this. They all want the holiday sales but obviously they won't ALL get them. Someone could be getting them right now.
 
It's sad that people pay full price for a game and then pay even more for maps that would just be a free incentive to buy the game in any other generation.

Even worse that people support that behavior from publishers.
 
Getting all the map packs included makes this sound somewhat worthwhile compared to the other hardened editions that they've put out, but it all depends on how many packs they end up putting out, and how much this costs itself.
 
For one of the biggest games to ever exist, that's not a very good collectors edition. Actually, even if Call of Duty was obscure they're still underwhelming extras.

dude there will be another (bigger) edition, as usual.
 
So that year of Elite would be worth around a hundred dollars, right?

If you get to actually keep the map packs once that year is up this will probably be a good deal for someone planning to buy all the maps.

Of course that's assuming this doesn't cost some stupid amount of money.

I'm surprised they're adding in map packs considering most of the people buying Hardened Edition would probably just buy the map packs anyway unless this thing is really expensive to make up for that.

Well, yeah, but the hardened edition of CoD has been the same price for the past few years. Unless they canned the crazy edition and are just using this now, I wouldn't see the price going away from their set model.
 
Well if this thing is ~75-85 euro's like previous hardened editions will buy because of the DLC.

If it is 140, like someone said I won't touch it with a stick...
 
These are usually $20 more than the regular SKU, right? 99% of the time I find the premium SKUs to be overpriced bs but getting all the MW3 DLC for an extra $20 is a pretty good deal even if they set it up like Netflix or Spotify where you're only really renting the content(which is fair IMO.) They'll probably end up raising the MSRP to $99+ though. :-/

Elite Membership meaning free DLC packs.

Over $100 easily. I'm guessing $149.99.
 
The reactions here... If this was a collectors edition for any other game people would be all over it.

A nice looking case, an art book (plus some other stuff in the book) and a different disk art.

No annoying statues that not people complain about.

Only bad thing is the elite subscription and the dlc will probably drive the price up, which sucks for those not interested.

Price will probably be ridiculous, but it will be priced smartly (in other words high) as activision know many people will see value in the dc and elite.

Yep, let's read the post of a random person who provides no source for their claims.

How about Messi at least provide a source for this 140 euro price?

This isn't even an official reveal, it was sent in by an anon tip, hence why no price is revealed and nothing from official sources so far.
 
If you get to keep the maps when your Elite status runs out and this is sub $100 or at $100 it would be a solid deal, being that (if they stick to the schedule) we would see 4 $15 map packs in that year, which is $120 total.
 
This CE is great. In one year there is probably gonna be 45 bucks worth of map packs out in a year. Also some of the premium Elite stuff might be cool. And the price is probably gonna be like 90 bucks so it looks like a good deal to me.
 
I also thought that it was a small figure/statue that was included at first =)

I wonder if there will be a prestige edition this time around and what it will contain.
 
They can't possibly charge more than a hundred for this. It doesn't have any big fancy RC Car-esque thing in it that would make it seem like a good deal in an average person's eyes.

That is Treyarch's schedule. IW has only put out 3 map packs over 2 games so far compared to TA's 7.
 
Really that's it?

I would at least think they would have combined the night vision headset with the remote control car or something.

I usually believe GAFers because if you are bullshitting you get banned pretty quickly around here.

Also Activision wants to make money with Elite, so giving it away for cheaper would be a terrible idea.
 
The future DLC is a good deal, but I can't help but feel bummed. I mean, this will be extra money you won't see for months. It's essentially an investment. I want my CEs filled with frivolous feelies, not down payments.
