Yeah, I've found the spawns to be just as bad as they are in COD4, if not worse. I've never been spawned in the middle of my own airstrike in COD4, but I spawn-killed by my own artillery.Stoney Mason said:

I actually like the vocal characters. One of the best things about COD3 was friendly AI calling out enemy locations with some great detail. Some of that has carried into COD5, with characters shouting "They're shooting through the walls," or "The Hut! They're in the hut!" Game is pretty awesome I have to admit, as someone who was like 'no more WW2 shooters' but I think I'm going to get it.
I LOVE the dogs they are so awesome, and It's not that hard to kill them with the knife and is actually quite fun. The only problem is if they spawn next to you then yeah it's kind of tough to take out several.
I'm not a big fan of the artillery strikes though, air strikes were much better but the sound effects are great.

It's pretty good, much better than COD3 MP anyway, it feels like COD4 with a different skin though. Not that it's a bad thing but I was expecting a little more. Framerate is solid, graphics look good, sound is awesome (except for the lame voices).
I can see the community has passed me by though, I was able to hold my own in COD4 when it came out and do pretty well (top 4-5 for every map), I regularly came in the bottom 3 in COD5 in my 3-4 plays though I guess some of it may be that I was the lowest level with no perks and hadn't a clue about the maps.
I'm still buying the game because I'm a COD fanboy

GAF-user Duck gave me a 48h-code so I could download the Beta over my Austrian account, but it still does nothing. It seems as if you have to use a gold account.
WTF is this shit? I got a new token from Callofduty.com (don't know why), put it in and got the same (not working) code as yesterday..

Called Microsoft and asked if they somehow banned or blocked this beta in Germany and according to them Germany will get a (if at all) cut beta. So I'm not able to download the beta via my German account....

Fuck this fucking spawns, worst fucking spawns ever created in an FPS, especially in the Castle level. FUCK!
I know it's a decent game but I also know that if it was IW or any other developer using all these resources that was given to them, they would have made a much much better game, an example of a dumb design choice is why are you able to shoot bullets through windows but you can't shoot RPG through them, aren't they suppose to break? what generations are we in where glass isn't destructible?
Also they fucked up the running and the animations, the health is much lower now, easier to die from just one bullet, pretty fucking retarted.
/rant and a meltdown.
The more you play this game the more flaws you will find with it, the more you will realize how mediocre these devs are, especially when they were given such a great piece of technology to work with and managed to fuck it up at the end.

^^^ It's a beta. When cod4 came out the hit detection wasnt very good and when the host dropped out the whole match would end.
If you think the health is too low just pick the juggernaut perk although you will hear the endless 'juggernoob!' insults but it actually makes me laugh.

I doubt the final game will be any different than what we see in the Beta. The fact that they locked majority of the guns and perks sort of gives it away that this Beta is nothing more than a multiplayer tease to build interest.
The only things they can do is minor tweaks such as the amount of damage per bullet similar to what they did with the M4 in CoD4 Beta where the M4 was essentially a M16 on Automatic fire and the damage was reduced in the final game.

God I loved the beta at first but the more I play the more I hope they fix. There are already loads of ways to get up on places Treyarch didn't intend for you to go and a nasty glitch on Roundhouse that allows you to get under the map. So basically every game on that map tards down to just trying to rush the glitch spot to stop the other team from getting in, or completely avoiding one side of the map if they do get in.
On top of that, the hit detection is terrible. I know part of it is just COD4 had ridiculous weapons that didn't have realistic recoil but there are times when someone is just STANDING there looking away from me and I shoot from a bolt rifle or a regular rifle 3-4 times before they even move and maybe if I am lucky 1 will hit them.
The respawn problem is even more of a problem here than COD4 because this game doesn't seem to spawn you near your teammates. That and apparently there aren't many spawn points. I've already played a few TDM games against entire clans who apparently have the spawn points memorized. Too many times you just spawn right in front of enemies who are all too happy to mow you down before you can even move.
Lag is still in the game and it seems more of an issue than COD4. When you have 2 bars in this game your play really, really suffers. That and they didn't fix the host migration problem. How can a PS2 franchise (SOCOM) still to this day have the best host migration setup? Ridiculous.
I'm sure the game will still be good and this IS just a beta but these are known problems with COD4... seems strange that they would not only not fix them but in some cases make them worse.

I say it's a toss up. If they really do have a solid ballistics and accuracy model in the game, maybe the rifles are really accurate, it's just that we're too accustomed to moving while shooting, and therefore, shots are landing on limbs instead of the torso.HugBasket said:
