Also, even as a Brit, I'm fine with the "yet another American Western Front story". The D-Day landings have been done before but they and the push to Berlin are an easy, totally logical narrative sell. Also makes sense to do this now with what's obviously a bit of a reboot for WWII shooters. Other arenas of the war will come I'm sure.

Looks alright. It did not give me that much feeling. I wish there were more fronts focused on (North Africa, Russia, Pacific) in the same game like the old Call of Duty's instead of just the Normandy campaign.

Day fucking one.

This, to me, is what CoD is about: full scale, open war. Boots on the ground. I always found that, when it tried to go "elite special forces team" it totally lost what made the originals good - the feeling of being a cog in a huge war machine. The feeling of being a grunt in a vast army with friendly soldiers all around.

Recent CoDs have moved away from this which is partly why I lost interest. Totally in for cowering in terror at the throaty roar of an MG42 again.

It's a good start. Hard not to ruin the multiplayer though with all the junk they have added over the years. Hopefully everything has been toned down and the core gameplay speaks for itself.

COD Campaigns at their worst are still miles ahead of BF campaigns so I wouldn't worry.
