It is confusing going out to eat lately as many places now have "well done" and "well well done." They essentially made "well done" like "medium well" used to be, and everything else is down on grade.

I never tried medium rare steaks, I've always chose it to be cooked well done. I remember going to this burger place and I thought I ordered a well done burger, but when I took a bite, it was juicy. I checked and it looked kind of pink in the middle. So I ordered a medium rare or medium well burger, and it was delicious. One of these days, I need to try out medium rare steaks. However for chicken, it has to be cooked very well with no signs of raw at all.

lol ok this made me crack up. "i thought i told them to make it suck but then it didnt!" not trying to rag on you tho, bro. glad you came over #TeamRare

"Excuse me, I believe you gave me a burger instead of the hockey puck I ordered."

This chart doesn't even make any sense with the definitions... Especially given they're not even using the proper definition for rare in this scenario. English is contextual, not static.

Rare for steak.
Medium-rare for burgers.
Reddah is bettah.

Medium rare at the minimum, for all meats.

I had rare lamb the other day at a really nice restaurant in DC just to try it and it was great, but I would still go for med rare normally.

Why do people think red meat is bad for you? As a kid my mom always checked our steaks/burgers for pink spots, which I now find sorta ridiculous.

Unfortunately, grew up a "Witness of Hov." Blood was a no no. All I know is the shit still freaks me out and I can't eat shit looking blood red..I'll just starve. If I taste it = day ruined! Keep hearing I'm missing out..can't tell.

Back when I used to eat meat, I always ate it well done. Everything less cooked reminded me that I was basically eating a raw corpse. Did not like that idea too much!

Eat the meat anyway you like it.

And if you like it well done, at least you'll have less worries about food poisoning.

Probably not.
Your coddled immune system will get wrecked when someone slips up.

Disgusting in my opinion. Tried it before, but never again.

I like meats cooked all the way, medium well is the most I'll go. Anything less and I gag.

I hate meat in general, (cept chicken) and seeing it pink on the inside just adds to my disgust

Plants are a thousand times grosser. Sprouting and growing like mold. I usually cook vegetables because the crunch of fresh ones just feels so fibrous and alien sometimes.

Animals have entire organ systems dedicated to keeping their insides clean, filtering out shit so that the body can function. Plants are inherently dirty no matter what.

Do I sound insane?

I had steak with the bf not too long ago and it was bloody and pink inside and I had to close my eyes to eat it. I couldn't finish it and gave it to him. So gross.

ha. i bought a steak at the store, took the saran wrap off and ate it still cold. shit was delicious as fuck. like eating mushy iron bars.

if im gonna cook steak then yes the redder the better. shit just sucks when over cooked and chewy like a tire.

Oh, and rare chicken is a bit odd because of salmonella and all, but rare pork? Fuck that, I don't wanna get trichinosis.

First the worms eat your muscles, then they eat your BRAIN.

If I remember correctly the last official recorded case of trichinosis in the United States happened in the 1930s and the guy got it from eating cougar meat.
