Can I return an opened item to Target?

Bought a PS Vita Starter Kit W/ Memory Card from Target on clearance yesterday. Got home and I opened. Noticed that the memory card that is supposed to be included was missing. The box was a bit beat up and had some tape on it. For some reason I thought this was perfectly fine since it didn't say opened/returned item or whatever on the box.

Anyone know if Target will refund me? I doubt they'll even believe me tbh :\

I don't know Target's policy, but I've returned many opened and used electronics items to both Walmart and Best Buy and they've always given me a full refund.

I've returned a few open items there for similar reasons (defects, etc.). Never had a problem. They don't seem to cause a fuss unless they find you abusing the system or somesuch thing. I'd say go for it.

Hell yeah they'd better give you a full refund! It should not have been on the shelf in the first place without an "opened item" tag and sold at a discount. Just last week I bought a comforter & bedding set at Target. I was in a hurry so I didn't bother to check it. When I got home, it was apparant that it was used! The pillow shams had residual stains on them and the sheets smelled funky, as if it had been slept in for a month. Took it back to Target, demanded my money back and made a scene to the store manager about selling dirty laundry on their shelves. Never buying bedding there again.

Yes. I returned a pair of headphones WITHOUT the box a few months ago. Just as long as you include all of the original items, there shouldn't be a problem.

Yo, aslong as you have your receipt, hasn't been past 30 days, lost your receipt? you can use your debit card as one if purchased with it, otherwise you have to use your id and get a gift card back if none in stock since it was clearance.
I work there.

OP I returned a whole 2DS Pokemon X Bundle that was open in exchange for another 2DS bundle. They didn't even bother to check it or even ask me for ID either. If I was a dick I could have literally kept the other 2DS and gave them a box of rocks. Luckily I'm not a dick and the 2DS SD Card Slot refused to work for some reason which meant no way to play Pokemon X without rebuying it.

Besides that I bought back headphones and other open stuff to target many times before.

:lol wow. Honestly I think someone just opened it up inside the store or something and took the memory card without anyone noticing. The top of it was all taped up and was pretty beat up. Got it on the clearance section since it was $12 while it's normally like $25 or $30

Well you see. I want to return it because it's missing an item.

Paid in cash but I do have the receipt. I'll try to return it today or tomorrow

Didn't you read the story about some dude who returned an iPod Touch because he went home and the box was filled with erasers? I think he said it happened twice in fact.
