I've been trying to use a vga cable for my X360 with my laptop computer. So far, I have connected everything to my laptop but I cannot figure out how to display the game console's images rather than the computers. I don't think that I can turn on the monitor without turning on the laptop, so is it possible to use this laptops monitor with the VGA cable?

Probably not. Laptops generally don't allow access to the display by external devices, if there's a VGA on it, it's a VGA out to be fed into a monitor.

Ok, thanks for the help. I guess I will dig up an old monitor and use that.
