Can/should men trim armpit hair these days?

I have to say, one thing that instantly freaks me out is seeing a guy with underarm hair wearing a sleeveless shirt. I don't care that it's natural, I find it gross.

I think guys look good with shaved underarms, and think it should be more socially acceptable! Or at least avoid sleeveless shirts. Or both.

i shave mine every 3 weeks or so. Im not very hairy. Its common in the middle east to remove underarm hair. Not sure if its because its hot here or a hygeine thing. I also used to get my shoulders waxed but after about 4 sessions the hair stopped growing back so now i dont need to.

Here is considered uncommon to not remove the hair.

It's also a religious practice, it's recommended in hadith for hygiene.

Trim.

Armpits are a VERY annoying place to get ingrown hairs, and its very easy to get them there.

why?

Armpits are damp, wet. grow lots of bacteria, and has very loose skin. it's the perfect place to get painful bumps. also for some people your lymph nodes will hate you for it.

I shave every few weeks. Makes my deodorant way more effective.

Yea get the same thing too. It feels good to have wind run through your armpits after a good shave too. My sweat only stays inside my pits instead of flowing down my sides as well. I use to get sweat marks all around where my armpits are and it was annoying to see outside of playing some sport.

So what do you reckon would be better for trimming - electronic razer (old one I used for face) or good ol' trimming scissors?

I use scissors.

What exactly do other people mean when they say trim?

Im saying I take a 4 inch hair and trim it down to 2 inches. Dont electric razors take you down to 1/4 inch?

I use an electric shaver to trim my pits about every 3 weeks. Feels great. I can't stand the giant tuft of hair that would develop if I don't. It makes it hard to apply deodorant.

Shaving: NO. Never. EVER. Don't do that, you'll regret it.

Triming: Yes, if you feel like it. I'm a bit of a hairy beast, so I'd like to keep some things in check now that it's summer time.

.

Manscaping is necessary when the most attractive male celebrities are clean shaven or trimmed to the point of being per-pubescent. That's what we have to compete against.

I trim my arms not to look like Robin WIlliams, my chest hair to a length that doesn't get caught in zippers, and my downstairs short enoguh to not look like I wear a wig on my balls.

Sure, why not? If you want to, go for it. Maybe I would have judged you when I was 18 or something but I'm an adult now.

ITS A BRAVE NEW WORLD PEOPLE

Shaving both the pits and down below every 5ish days like a boss. Just gotta suck up the stings when using deodorant like a man... but feels too good after.

But everywhere else on the body is a forest.

I have the arm pit hair of a 12 year old. I kinda prefer it this way, being super hairy would be gross and I'd probably trim it.

What would Robbie Williams do?

Probably just let them grow. And so should you.

Always listen to Robbie.

Never EVER shave. I did this, and to my horror, it meant unending chafing for several days. It was agony. Absolute agony.
