Can someone help me dealing with this minor electrical problem with my car?

Let's look at the timeline:

-You went in on a Sunday without making an appointment. They scheduled an appointment for you 3 days later: pro-tip, you could have called to do this step, no need to go into their store.
-They diagnosed that your radio was broken and needed replacing in under an hour on the Wednesday of your appointment. They said they'd call you in a couple days when the radio arrived.
-You didn't even wait two full days before calling them to ask if the replacement radio was in stock. It was. They gave you an appointment a week later. You were unhappy so you went in-person to complain and got the appointment moved up four days.

Up to this point, the dealership did absolutely nothing wrong in my opinion.

-You came for your Monday appointment and they pushed it back a day due to being overworked. This is legitimately their mistake.
-On Tuesday you came back. They couldn't fix your car with the new radio, signifying a more significant problem than the radio unit itself. They requested you leave your car so they can look into it further. You refused.

And you want to file "a big ass complaint" as if they've done something horrible? What did they do wrong besides pushing back one of your appointments by a day (after moving it up by four days)? Screwing up the diagnosis is something they did wrong too I guess, but man, mistakes happen. Grow up and accept that.

The more I read this, the more I feel like you have a serious anger issue if this is working you up. It sucks, sure, but they aren't freaking magicians.

I'm on board with this. Get your shit together OP.

I wouldn't have care let my car overnight but I think I have been treated like shit this whole time. When I went to the dealer on Wednesday was for a diagnostic but after today I doubt the did a proper diagnostic as it will be very easy to test is the radio was working or not which they fail to do so and I guess since the radio wasn't turning on they assumed it was the radio. I wasted one week dealing with push backs and complains. I'm guy who is known to have patience, a lot of it.
This sounds interesting

Yeah I don't know why it's an issue for you to leave the car overnight. That makes it easier for them to access it because....they have it. Usually they'll give you a loaner for a car still under warranty.

^Chill out Speed Racer.
They sell these hand held machines that plug into your car to spit out any error codes they pick up on. Forget what they are called.

Alternatively you can go to some(not all) auto parts stores and they can do it for you for a fee with their equipment.

Btw the dealership isn't doing you a "favor" to do warranty work on a car you didn't buy from them. You're not giving them any money but they still get paid for the work they do by the manufacturer.

OP is still acting ridiculous.

This is pretty typical for dealers, and I would count yourself lucky that the issue is not mechanical. Imagine the agony if you had a vibration or intermittent noise they could not pinpoint.

You are easily frustrated because you just bought the car - I can understand that. You want to enjoy it.

Give them time, or seek an independent mechanic. You'll want to find one eventually in the long run - dealers are no good unless you are inside warranty - and even then what a pain!

On a side note you seem angry and that has always been my stereotype of Mustang drivers. Thanks for reinforcing that!

... Let's go to the tape, folks!

What are you driving? Your mom's Camry?

... Let's rewind that.

Sorry they aren't super rad v6 mustangs.

edit: electrical issues suck btw. had to get rid of my 2g crx because of an unknown chassis harness problem. dealer is gonna need to do a bit of trial and error due to the nature of most of the issues that won't throw a code and have to be traced.

An obd 2 scanner. Those will only check codes stored, which usually means the check engine light would be on. I doubt thats the case for a non functioning radio. Though since its a newer car, there's probably a special scanner they have that shows more information.

Also, as someone who's worked at a dealership, sometimes diagnosing a problem can take a while.

They didnt give you a loaner? Its a brand new car. Were you being a dick to someone? You definelty should have been provided with one while they figure out the issue.

Nothing you really want to do with a third party or by yourself seeing that its brand new...

Let me get this straight. You are giving me shit for driving a V6 Mustang yet you drive a 4 cyl Honda Civic? Lol.

I don't have an unlimited amount of disposable income to spend on horsepowers I'm going to use once in a blue moon. If that what the case I would have bought a GT350.

Back to the topic. The dealer didn't call me when the radio unit arrived so I called them a day later. I was told when I first brought my car that they will call me as soon as the radio arrived to bring my car for the installation.

Hopefully you can afford this one OP and won't lose it like the last dream car. You should probably be a little more patient as it sounds to me and most others in the thread like they're doing their best to diagnose and fix the problem. Best of luck.

Sounds like normal service. They told you they'd call in a couple days.. you got impatient. They bumped you a day, which sucks.

The problem wasn't what they thought, and get this.. cars are fucking complicated machines now.

So.. you weren't treated bad. You are impatient.

Leave your car and get it fixed.. or bitch on GAF and make a thread. I mean that's a tough choice, I know.

Breh, you have a v6 mustang. Just stop.

And why not just leave the car with the dealership so that they can actually fix it instead of complaining? Your warranty exists for reasons like this.

I'm not a huge Honda fan, but man those are in incredible shape. I had an AWS Prelude in Japan. It was pretty nice, especially after I swapped some Si seats into it. I just wish it would have been a manual.
