Around 30. I'm ashamed to say that I have visited more than these in my life, but can't name them. Will spend rest of the day on wiki I guess.

I got 133, and now I feel inadequate because people here got higher scores than me and I swear to god I'm a geography expert

Why do gaffers have to be such nerds!?

If it was map where I could have scrolled and zoomed in, I could have gotten them all off the top of my head, or at least most of them

124. I drew a blank on parts of Africa that were at the tip of my tongue. Then when I reached central America I ran out of time. Also fuck the Caribbean, why did you all have to leave the UK for. Looking at the map, with infinite time I reckon I would've gotten to 160 before giving up.

Missed some silly ones such as Hungary and Croatia because my map was so damn full.

Hard to do them all from memory. What surprised me is that I got all of the south american countries and remembered them the most easily and I have no idea why lol

My college professor made us memorize all of them. However, that was years ago, so I am guessing I only retained perhaps 140 or so.

I had to learn the map of Africa in high school, but I don't think they bothered with Sao Tome and Principe, hehe. This is probably the first time I read about it.

Ran out of time because I was watching NFL and didn't realize there is a timer. Finished with 105 but didn't even start with Africa yet. Would say the endscore would be around 160. Will try again during halftime break.

Watching Olympic opening ceremonies helps, although there are 205 National Olympic Committees so there's a few extras thrown in there.

Australia is part of Oceana which has 14 countries.
I never learned Oceana as a continent. I even checked Wikipedia and they list Australia as a continent.
what in the fuck?
thats a really disturbing comment..
I thought it just had different provinces like Canada did. Obviously I had heard of places like Egypt, but like South Africa I thought was just a large chunk of the Southern half of Africa. The Ivory Coast I thought was the upper left part that was south of the Sahara Desert. I actually learned about the different countries because I was looking at something that mentioned Congo and I went to see where it was and previously thought it was in the Carribbean near Jamaica.

I blame my public schooling. We never learned about Africa aside from Ancient Egypt

I think it's more that people play it multiple times, trying to get 100% eventually, or just keep playing it to keep it fresh in their heads.

Or the people that are taking this quiz are already pretty good at geography and trying to get 100% I don't think it's a representative sample of the populace. I bet most people don't even now that there are 23 countries in North America.

These could be the case. I'm sure some of it is people repeating it to try to improve. This particular quiz has been done the third most under Geography so I don't imagine it's all big geography fans as it falls within the spectrum of the more casual quizzer to click and find out how they do which should make the percentages much lower.

It's tough to say. But I do think it's inflated by cheaters wanting to make their profile look better. There's a specific badge for earning 100% on this particular quiz.

Dude.

80. In my defense, english not being my first language, I don't know how to spell all in english. The filippines? The fillipines? IT WAS PH.

What I'd like to know if anyone in this thread got all of the Saints and all of the -stans, because no one remembers all of the former. Ever. Which reminds me I need to make it a point to memorize all of them. Also I got 85 on my first try, which I'm not proud of. I forgot a lot of obvious ones too, which is just sad.

60, but in my defense, I had quite a few where I didn't know the english spelling. Although I managed on the other hand to forget about the existence of Iran and Iraq lol

Africa is always my downfall with this. Usually manage the rest without difficulty, as long as you make sure you've named an entire continent before moving on.

When watching Pointless/playing the pub quiz machine geography is my go to subject. Caribbean and Oceanic islands are always a good shot for a pointless answer.

Edit: Just logged into sporcle, 196/197 is my high score.

I can get pretty much all of the Americas, Europe and Asia. Some of the smaller ones in Africa I tend to forget, and I'm hopelessly lost when it comes to the island states in Oceania.

I never learned Oceana as a continent. I even checked Wikipedia and they list Australia as a continent.

Oceania is a loosely defined region that usually includes Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea and many of the smaller islands in the Pacific. I wouldn't say it's a continent though.

'Australia' is an actual continental shelf and includes the mainland (Australia), New Guinea (Indonesia and Papua New Guinea) and Timor.

Got 51. If it was in Portuguese I would've fared better because I really don't know how most countries are named in English, neither their spelling. I wrote Chezc instead of Czech or Equador instead of Ecuador for example. Also there where some the I visualized their flags but couldn't get their name, was really surprised.
