Can you remember the first game you beat?

It was either The Animals of Farthing Wood or The Adventures of Hyperman for windows 95. My parents didn't really buy games for me or let me get a gameboy until I was 7, so I played those 2 over and over when I was young.

yep

I actually can't, but it might of been Kirby's Dreamland. I was not able to beat the majority of games I had growing up (raised on NES then Genesis).

Dizzy, the original ZX Spectrum game. I know it's the first one I beat because it's the only game I owned when I was young that could be beat (Football Manager with my father went on forever).

I'm not sure this really counts since it was my sister's file but I beat Bowser in Super Mario World when I was 6. This would have been around 1994.

If we are counting a game that I started from the beginning and beat, it was probably Donkey Kong Country. I was probably 7 or 8 so this would have been '96 or '97.

Super Mario Bros

I think the next title I beat was Dirty Harry for the NES...out of spite. That game was terrible and it pissed me off. I learned to navigate the sewers without the flashlight I replayed it so hard to prove I was better than it. Eventually got to where I could beat it in a hurry. If only I knew about speedruns as a kid. I shoulda recorded that thing.

That and Bad Dudes...beat it for the same reasons and in the same manner as a kid. As fast and as aggressively as possible. Hated those games so I punished them and made them my bitch. I tend to do this to bad games...play the hell outta them yelling about how I'm better than they are and won't succumb to their bullshit. Was surprised when halfway through one of these moments with the newer Bionic Commando that the title would suddenly get great halfway through.

Absolutely. Suikoden I. I was ten years old and in the fifth grade. It took me sixty hours. My mom had bought the PS1 and Suikoden I (alongside Tales of Destiny and two other games I can't remember atm) for me as a Christmas gift, and I basically played the crap out of them every night after school. When I finally beat it I was blown away--I'd had several systems before the PS1 (SNES, Game Gear, and N64), but that was the first game I'd ever beaten. I was so proud. ^^ To this day Suikoden is one of my favorite series because its the first I'd ever finished.

Super Mario Brothers (NES) .

This, but I'm pretty sure I used warps to do it. I was like 7 years old. Games were really hard back then, so I can't remember actually beating any other NES games until several years later when I had a returned interest in NES titles after a local game shop sold them for $5.

For me it was either Contra (with the code) or TMNT2 on the Nes in two-player, also with code. So its definitely a game from Konami :)

Wonderboy #1 on Sega Master System, I think.

I remember being confused and angry that the same game was on NES but was some dude with tourist clothes on.

This would be my first game I remember beating.

This game was amazing and still is one of the best Akklaim games they put out including Maximum Carnage. Although these are freaking tedious.

First game I beat was Bio Menace for MS-DOS. Console-wise it was Donald Duck: Deep Duck Trouble for Game Gear. Damn, takes me back thinkin about em.

The first game I finished by myself without any sort of help was Resident Evil 2. Super Mario 64 was technically my first, but my brother started the first half and I sort of finished it for him.
