Happy Canada Day!

Nice OP. Can we get it changed to [Canadian] or [Canada] though, I really liked that from the last thread, haha.

My parents got me a Wii using Optimum points
My mom came up with the idea all on her own and then I found it on RFD as well

This weeks Zellers flyer has a buy 1 get 1 for 50% off on all bin games $19.99 or less. Not the greatest of deals as they sometimes do the buy 1 get 1 free on the same games. Thought I'd mention it though.

listen to the mad man
oh, to go back to days gone by

if this were 2008, the OP would have "Common Deals: Amazon Visa Perks, get new release games for $43.99" or "Rogers Video: 2/$40 on games that came out less than a month ago"

:/

Two of my three favourite promotions :( Trade 3 for Free was my third but that got less and less enticing as RFD got more and more into it.

So is the Gamestop deals starting next week? And should I expect something good or will it be 2 years old games that no on cared about?

Thanks Peter.Simpson909

I think I will go with

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Enslaved
Medal of Honor
Yakuza 4
Kane & Lynch 2

That's about 5 games for 80 dollars. Sounds good.

Yes, this looks to be a worthwhile sale! I'd already snagged ACB for $17 with a FS PM, and Enslaved somewhere for $10, otherwise I'd be right there with you.

I don't think Yakuza 4 has ever been this cheap...

Yakuza 4 - $29.99
Test Drive Unlimited 2 - $19.99

I might just get the Kinect Floor Stand just incase I need to travel.

Vanquish - PS3
Yakuza 4 - PS3
Halo 3 Legendary Edition - 360
Crackdown 2 - 360

Total = $80

That's if I can actually get the games I want before they sell out.

Heyo Canada-GAF.

Quick question, but is anyone here on those new Shaw plans? Broadband 50 or Broadband 100? Where I live, Shaw is basically the lesser of two evils and is somehow less cruddy than the alternative, but I've been thinking about upgrading from my Extreme plan to one of those.

Anyone here have experience with either of those plans? They're only about a month old but the speeds are pretty tempting. (And no, I'd come no where close to that sort of data usage, so that's not an issue.) Heard any good or bad stories and/or know anyone with experience with either?

If you read the fine print, the plans are pretty expensive. 75/month alone or 59/month bundled once you are past the 3 month promotion. Heck of a lot of speed and data though, and it's nice that they are offering unlimited data (even though it is really slow). They're tempting, but I think I'm going to stick with my current 7.5meg with 125gig of data for 49/month alone or bump it up to the 25/250 for $10 more.

EDIT: Weird, I just did a speedtest and got 16.51mbps for my result, so I went and checked my bill and am most certainly paying for 7.5mbps. Hmm.. I wonder if the unlimited 1meg would work fine with netflix and et cetera.

Are you sure Telus is worse? Their promos are pretty awesome... I signed a one year contract for $10 TV / $10 HD Box / $10 Phone + some long distance plan for $20 / $10 15mbps internet last year. Unlimited bandwidth.

I believe cable providers have something that makes the first few seconds download much faster screwing up speedtest results.

I heard it's also in-store, but I can't confirm.

You can always pricematch somewhere. :p

I don't have a working printer, and the nearest stores are Wal-Mart, and Zellers. Two stores which I don't think would do an online price match.

Does anyone know if the 3DS eShop cards are in Canada yet?

What are the cheapest known ways of acquiring Galaxy 1 and 2? Aside from ignorantly priced stickers in flea markets? lol I must have these games again!

Wait is Telus available in Southern Ontario with those services? I am switching from Bell to Teksavvy, the monthly price is very reasonable at Teksavvy. But I am a little worried about speed. It's only advertised as "up to 5mbps". Bell average speed is slightly more than that. Can someone confirm if Teksavvy is the way to go?

Telus is BC / AB only. Tekksavvy is your best choice in Ontario.

As a Manitoban, my other choice right where I'm at is MTS.

Some people seem to love 'em, but I've tried them on three separate occasions and everything from the customer service to the product quality and connection reliability have been flat out awful.

Anyway, I had a university student discount with Shaw that expired this month. Seeing as how it''s expired, switching to this plan using the personalizer is the same as what it would have cost on my old plan starting the next billing cycle.

So I think I'm going to give it a go for a month and see if the connection is worth the money.

If not, I can always dial it back next month.

I tried going to Futureshop @ Metro today, the prices aren't changed to reflect it. Also the flyer they have going on right now for July 1 - 7th is any Nintendogs/cats / Steel Diver / Pilotwings Resort is 19.99 IF you purchase a 3DS. I didn't ask the sales associates, I might try again tomorrow. Actually Pilotwings Resort is 19.99 right now by itself but none of the other titles were.

Galaxy 1 is $30 used at FS, or $30 new at Staples. Galaxy 2 is $50 new at Staples.

I know this isn't a deal but I just wanted to announce that, after a year of fighting with them, Fido finally fixed my contract and cut it down from 4 years to 3 years!

Thinking about Vanquish from the list basically. I should probably just buy the disc version of AE, lol, wonder if it's cheaper to buy the disc version of Super + AE download. Lost Planet 2 looks nice too, hm.

From the looks of that EB Games list, I'll be after TDU2, Enslaved, and Vanquish. Hoping I can get Majin for $10 during one of the daily deals.
