It's being dumb from a business standpoint. And IIRC MHP3 was announced after Tri came out in Japan. Might be wrong about that though, I'm just going off what I remember.

The timing says it all. Tomorrow at 7am? That's shortly after the end of the Nintendo conference and no sane person would announce something this early in the morning if it weren't for a special reason.

It's most certainly about 3DS or Wii titles. Since Wii support by 3rd parties is kinda "lol" right now, two 3DS games seems to be the most likely case.

MH Tri was already out for months when Capcom announced Portable 3rd.

50% of my xxx hours Monster Hunter group decided not to buy a Wii for Monster Hunter because of the 3rdP announcement. It wasn't irrelevant. The announcement swayed their doubt into not buying.
