Capcom files a new trademark for ''Deep Down''

yeah, but this is registered as a Class 009 trademark, which is for:

If it was for other purposes it would be registered as another class. Clothing is class 025 I think

its basically the exact same trademakr they registered almost 4 years ago

They're actually completely identical aside from two small punctuation changes: "Electronic publishing services, namely, online publication of non-downloadable text and graphic works of others featuring computer and video games and strategies thereof" is now "Electronic publishing services, namely, online publication of nondownloadable text and graphic works of others featuring computer and video games and strategies thereof" and there's now a semicolon missing between "Motion picture theater services" and "Production of motion pictures in the form of films". I think there was a miscommunication and whoever submitted the application was under the impression that the title hadn't already been trademarked.

I Was just thinking about this game a few days ago. Hopefully we see it again soon, because it's a amazing looking game. Speaking of which, when was the last time we seen or heard anything of this game?

Watch Ono re-unveils it as Dragons Dogma 2
I'd want this over whatever Deep Down winds up being, tbh.

How could they re-register the name the hasn't been expired. I'm confused....

The trademark hasn't been awarded yet. The application is awaiting examination, at which point the USPTO will realise it's quite literally identical to the current trademark that Capcom registered back in 2013.

Why do you say $60 or multi?

I know it would make more sense for them, but did you say it just as a personal guess or there is something in the trademark that leads to thinking this?

Renewing a trademark and registering a new trademark are different processes no?

Hoping whenever this is re-revealed, it's a full-fledged, non-F2P game.

Considering how they have Dragons Dogma Online domestically to take care of peoples needs for some fantasy F2P jolly-coop do hope the same for Deep Down. As in not F2P.

Not quite sure if Capcom would want to push out another F2P game that would semi compete with their other IP. Even if DDOL is only running in Japan at the moment. Its why am pretty sure Capcom has steered clear of doing a console MH as they didnt want it to compete with their MHF marketshare.

Yeah, but the previous trademark is still valid and the new application Capcom submitted is literally identical. When the application is examined, Capcom will have to abandon one of them.

That would be a fascinating turn of events and it would actually be a great idea. MS need their own Soulsbourne title.

It would be a horrible business decision though.

All things considered an Xbox exclusive is basically targeting the NA/UK market alone; because the penetration of the brand elsewhere in the world is just not that great, and a new high-cost SKU isn't going to change that.

Revive Dragon's Dogma as a 3rd person title, give Deep Down the RE7 treatment and try to take a spin on the "souls genre".

Deep Down is not related to Dragon's Dogma. It's also an online game and would be handled by Division 2, the same division as Street Fighter V. Both of which were Ono projects. Itsuno would most likely be in Division 1, which develops primarily offline console titles for global markets. The chances of him working on Deep Down which is somehow now related to Dragon's Dogma is low.

We know it's not connected to Dragon's Dogma (though Capcom could easily retcon that if they decided to). The connection comes from early reports that compared the gameplay to DD.

Hope they forget about this F2P concept and give us a campaign with Coop and MP available.

Use the PS4.PRO to give us the quality of visuals they showed in that first trailer and downscale rez and effects on the OG PS4 as necessary...
